Pearl's eye view was a brilliant take on how to explain reflections/highlights.

Haha! I figured people would either get that or it would sound really lame! Glad it it's the former! :D

Thank you for such a highly detailed and informative video, painted pearls have intrigued overawed me until now. They are on my favourite classic artwork 'The Triumph of The Innocents' and what drew me into art in the first place, seeing your artwork inspired and kindled it again. Excited to be able to enjoy painting them. Many thanks.

I just discovered your art and was immediately smitten! I was so pleased to come across your videos and am watching them carefully one by one. Thank you for sharing your talent, skills and tips with the public. May I suggest a video dedicated entirely to your favorite supplies, why you like them over others and how they perform please? Starting from pencils to fine-liners, paper etc etc...... thanks again 🙏☺️

I actually do have several of those lined up, but they're currently in the advanced viewing phase still for my patreon subscribers. They will eventually be released out to this public channel, so just stick around! But if you're impatient, you can join www.patreon.com/StephanieLaw

Just found your channel and paintings. Thank you so much for your informative overviews and step-by-step tutorials. I'm now a subscriber and purchased four of your books so I could study your techniques. My retirement years are affording me time to enjoy painting again. Thanks again.

What brushes do you use? What brand makes your 10/0?
@StephanieLaw6 жыл бұрын
Mostly I use winsor & newton series 7 kolinsky sable. The 10/0 was something that I got as part of a package from jetpens for a giveaway a few months ago. You can see my commentary on how it handles, but it's a royal & Langnickel. For a synthetic brush, I'm actually impressed by them. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnncmniXa82Vnqc and kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zpiwe6B9m6mricU

Also, could you also show how you would do this pearl on acetate?

I'll add that to my list of possible topics!

I adore your tutorials. Very detailed and technical. Sorry if this question has been asked before, but what is the little Porcelain palette that you use called, or where would we be able to buy it? I’ve never seen a palette like that with so many little wells. it looks wonderfully useful.
@StephanieLaw6 жыл бұрын
It's my own design because I got tired of not being able to find the perfect palette for my needs. I plan on doing a kickstarter to make them more generally available, starting in about a month. You can read more info and get on the mailing list here: palettes.shadowscapes.com/ If you're super impatient and want to have one sooner (fulfillment for the kickstarter would not be until this fall or winter 2018), you can also order one right now at Shapeways: www.shapeways.com/shops/shadowscapes Show less

Stephanie Law omg, thank you SO MUCH, I looove THIS LITTLE PALETTE, probably because I have an affinity for miniature things! ;) I'm totally buying one on my next payday....would still love love love if you would make a video showing what colours you placed in yours
