For those who're confused on the thin splits around the sphere and the scale isn't working in voronoi in blender version 2.9, go to voronoi texture, replace the node section from "color" to "distance" in the voronoi texture towards height on displacement.

Best Blender tutorial I've seen in a long time. I liked how you showed the results and the nodes used at the bottom left corner like on 6:55 to 7:18. I was looking for a tutorial specially about procedural texturing. That is what led me to this tutorial and it was delivered spot on. Looking forward to seeing more like this.

I thought blender wouldn't even let you connect unmatching colored dots on the nodes. I could have sworn i've tried to do that and it wouldnt let me.
@DeathxStrike185 жыл бұрын
@@fatal510 the color dot only indicates its function not its connectivity as long as the two connections output the same type of value needed they work fine, some dots wont connect and that has more to do with the output data not being in the parameters I.E if the node only reads number values it wont accept a script input.

These tutorials are really great. I used to work a lot with 3DS Max back around 2003, and did it professionally for 6 years. Then I went into mathematics, got a PhD, and now I'm a professor. I've been doing a lot of work with KZbin, got to resurrect some skills in Premiere (took a year to dust that off), and now I'm looking to get into doing some visuals using Blender, MATLAB, and some Python script in the background. Thank you so much for making these quick and easy to digest tutorials. I know the basics, but I've never worked with Blender before. This is helping speed things up for me tremendously.

Rewarding for an equivalent amount of effort and giving immediate results after the work is complete! Thank you for making these and posting them! You've boosted my understanding greatly and even more so motivated me to work harder at blender and learn more as much as possible.

Hey this tutorial is great. For anyone trying in 2..9, Voronoi has changed. AT 5:53 I had to use the "Distance" data or w/e it's called and feed that into the "height" socket of the displacement node, in order to achieve the same effect.
