is this just an embroidery machine or a sewing and embroidery machine? I need a machine that I can use to hem my pants and sew my military patches on my uniform, but use the machine to embroidered my name on my seabag and backpack

Hi there, thanks for asking. This video shows the BERNINA L 460 which is neither a standard sewing machine nor an embroidery machine. The L 460 is an overlocker / serger. Overlockers are used to sew, cut and finish in one single operation, they are often used to achieve stretchy seams, for example with knitwear. It would be better if the lady was speaking while she was showing us how to hem so we wouldn't have to read while trying to see what she is doing

Hi Guadalupe Tice, thanks for your comment and for the interest in our videos! We use written words instead of voice-over on some of our videos because text inserts make it possible to stop the video and still read the instructions. Plus, they make our videos understandable for the hearing impaired and on devices (e.g. smart phones) with the sound turned off. That being said, there are also lot of videos on our channel with spoken instructions. We will probably produce more of these in the future. Kind regards from Switzerland
