Love the new video. I know these days people talk about cross training, but I was wondering what you think about "artistic" cross training, specifically if your piano training has helped your dancing. It seems to me that the emphasis on phrasing in music would help with improving the "in betweens" that you mentioned.

Hi Kathryn, could you please make a tutorial on how to do tombe, pas de bourré, glissade and saut de chat? Love your videos 😍
@PolyglotJ7 жыл бұрын
I love the pas de bourrés! They are pretty easy to do. All you have to do is to start in fifth position and place the leg that is on the back onto the ground and then pass the other leg on second position and end with the leg you previously moved in front. With arms what you have to do is first position, second, and end in first. Hope it helps you

I NEED HELP! I have a very important audition tomorrow and I cut my toenails way too short. Like way, way too short. And they are so jagged currently that when I go en pointe the sharp points gouge into my skin and it is too painful to bear. Does anyone have any advice for protecting my skin/ quickly repairing before 2:00 tomorrow??
@colleenmethod94317 жыл бұрын
If you can try an emery board to file it to make it less jagged. Or I'd recommend maybe checking with your dance teacher about taping or other options. This is something that while I am not into pointe shoes I have done in the past and had to use tape on to help protect it while it grew out. Anyone else with ideas?

I have a question. So about two years ago I broke my right ankle in two places. It happened in September but they didn't catch the break and put a cast on me until November. Since then I'm back dancing and teaching however I still have problems with my right ankle. Particularly when I do plies. It won't give at all. It's almost like it's cemented in place and won't bend so that I can plie properly. Do you have any advice for what could be causing this? What I should do to see if there's anything or anyone that I need to be seeing/doing to loosen it?
