I love Tunisian crochet and this honeycomb stitch looks great. I bought some multi coloured yarn thinking I liked it but when I started Tunisian crochet with just simple stitch it looked awful. I then thought maybe I could break it up by doing a different pattern and using a solid colour yarn in one of the colours of the multi coloured yarn. I might even change my mind about crocheting a blanket with it but instead Tunisian crocheting a bag using this honeycomb pattern. I was going to do a block pattern and make a blanket but now.....you have started me thinking differently.

True, a multicolour yarn can work great when you use it together with a single colour yarn! Try them both ways with this stitch, looks very different depending on which yarn creates the stitches at the top and which is the base colour - or if you change them around!

@@TuulaMaaria Yes, great idea I will swap the solid colour and multi colour around and see which one looks the best. Thanks.

So if you did this for a blanket, not in the round, to get that multicolor honeycomb, do you do one row honeycomb in color a, one simple in color b, repeat?
@TuulaMaaria2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, only noticed this now! If you do it that way you will end up with lots of yarn ends because you need to cut the yarn after each row. You could use several balls of both yarns. On this yarn I'm doing the basic stitch with two colours in rows, not in the round, wonder if that would help. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaPFq6GNj8aZd8k

What you call a plain stitch or a basic stitch is usually called a Tunisian Simple Stitch (TSS).

Yes, thank you, I remembered that after posting the video and you can't change it afterwards!

Is there a way to do the color change like this but not in the round?
@TuulaMaaria2 жыл бұрын
Yes, using a similar way as I'm showing on this video with the simple stitch kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaPFq6GNj8aZd8k
