I only know of this show thanks to you, Jayleno Fly, and I can't stand that I missed its entire history, and it's thanks to you that I can see this true genius. I had no idea why these awkward girls were dancing in the show with him, and just went 'whatever, it fits this show somehow' and now I found out quite literally they ARE awkward BECAUSE they were never meant to be out there, and it makes me love this show THAT MUCH MORE that the jury-rigged the shit out of everything on it. I seriously appreciate all your work collecting the gold that is this show so I can be indoctrinated into it like this.

Zippy Zane I only learned about Craig in the last season of his show. Once I realized how good it was, I dug in to find episodes of his show. The compilations done by Jay Leno Fly are the best. The final episode was as good as anything I've seen on late night.

When they had to do this and add someone named Beth it was the beginning of the end. The forced entertainment for the young male demographic ruined this show.

The end was already baked in: the end of David Letterman's contract, which was also the end of Craig's contract. Craig refused to be a "normal" host and treat the starlets promoting awful shows seriously, so CBS found a fat, unfunny man to replace him who would do those things. When Thompson as "Geoff" started improvising with Craig - the last 4 years - the show peaked. Best years. Prior to that, it was average, honestly - only so many cute Scottish anecdotes one man can relate, and the sketches weren't all that funny; there's a reason there's not a "Ferguson Sketch Collection" on this channel or elsewhere. I agree the Beth thing didn't work - again, that was more sketch than improv, unlike with Thompson.
