Your original tv cabinet video was what sparked my interest in wood working Jon. Looking forward to the video!

Funny thing, you and Jay Bates are probably my two favorite KZbin guys to watch. I'm about to be doing an owner/builder project on a 3500sf North Carolina new construction plantation house with lots of trim, built-ins, etc... and I'm doing most of the sub work. I've been debating making a YT library of the whole thing, just because there isn't much in-depth owner/builder stuff on here. Any suggestions? Whether it's cameras, microphones, techniques, what not to do, I'm interested in what both of you would say (although I don't see myself ever learning Jay's super-editing abilities haha). Stay warm up there!

Looking forward to the cabinet build Jon. I noticed the underside of the door on your first cabinet is getting worn where the lift hits it. Any plans on how to prevent that in the new build? Maybe put some plastic or PVC sheeting inlaid in those spots?

I'd personally put felt on the backside of the lift mechanism. That way you keep the look of wood and you don't see the felt since it is on the back.

There must be another way to make the hatch without putting hinges on it? I'm just thinking it'd be nicer to see the top flush and hinge-less when the tvs away. any chance of doing a tv lift add on to an existing set of drawers or similar, I'd like to be able to hide my TV Behind the lowboy
