Merry Christmas from His Majesty's Dominion of Canada Allen! It is very hard to say "His" I find, after the expansive reign of Queen Elizabeth. I've only been watching your channel here for a short time. It's been very educational and has a surprising ASMR-like quality. I could watch all day. Cheers!

The shop I was at always had this happen. The set would be bad for many months, then the customer would have to have it "right now". Nothing like waiting 'till the last minute. And as usual, the set would need a part we didn't stock, and the distributor was closed for a holiday or on vacation for a week. One old "Karen" had a total melt down hissy fit because we didn't have an IHVT for it in stock. She thought we should carry every part for every TV ever made in stock. Sigh. Had it in & fixed in 3 days. I detested customers like that.

I wouldn't have fixed it. Sort it out for yourself, madam, if you think you know how these processes work. Which is why, as I have said several times, I am not in business.

Still using my 42 inch Toshiba CFL from years ago with my Xbox Series X console. The colour is not harsh like a new model. It uses a little more power but i really like the quality of the picture.

Shame it didn't break near me. I had a Toshiba today that I had to go through 5 remotes to make it work - I reckon at least one of them would have sorted it.

The economics of televisions is strange indeed nowadays. Apart from the high-end features such as OLEDs, we can purchase excellent sets with immense screens for very reasonable prices, one of very few products that can be said of today. If you don't view from extreme angles, a non-OLED set should be satisfactory. I was doing some poking around and evidently, if you have a unit featuring so-called mini-LED backlighting, it implies full local dimming zones and all the buzzwords. This occupies a middle ground in pricing between the ultra-cheap sets and OLED territory. I do like good black levels but I'm also cheap so that's where I'll be shopping.
@bouncingbennyboy19652 сағат бұрын
@@Starchface Thanks for that. I also enjoy decent black levels, especially when watching films. Unfortunately my old Panasonic Plasma from 2006 still out performs the newer TV's in both colour reproduction and black levels.

@@malcolmmurphy2924 No one should buy Shamesung, they are struggling at the moment.
