so long ago, the man that inspired millions and millions to start wood working.

I was early on in high school when I started watching this show . I watched every episode and bought all his books . I have been wood working for over 30 years and it’s because of Norm

I can't imagine there are many families sitting around the television together, eating their dinner now. This really is a relic of the 20th century.

I remember tray tables. My family had metal ones.

My grandparents had those old metal tables too. They had a nice matching set.

I always loved this show because woodworking has always run in my family. My grandpa even built a house in Perry IA.

I liked the leather look, I may make a set of these or something similar.

My family had the metal ones (1:24) and using them from mid-1970’s into the 80’s. Especially for Sunday’s wild Kingdom and The Wonderful World of Walt Disney.

How did Russ not get “Victory Garden” in there? Would been awesome at the end for Norm and Julia Child to be watching TV using the tray tables.

The design team rejected the faux leather because it looked dated? Oof. This whole rounded design screams 1990 to me. I’d go for the more classic look. Idea if you’re making one: You can have ANYTHING printed on Medium Density Overlay plywood nowadays - it’s what they use for highway signs; it’s durable. You could print classic menus, TV show scenes, Old Masters, grandkids photos, etc.

Nowadays, you can buy a laser wood burner on the internet for $200, hook it up to the USB port on your computer, and print anything directly on to the wood. Of course, Norm would insist that you never do any laser engraving, "without these... your laser engraving safety glasses."

i turned one into a gaming table for my computer steering wheel 🛞 mount. had to get inventive. yes mounts to the desk but it wrenches on the trim. had an extra so i removed the top grips the feet/grips better just sits on the edge of the desk. no fuss to muss. other i use for drinks, and my Dyson hepa fan. i got the half/moon/to half scoop ice cream one i forget the model. the fan requires a canister micro filter good for a year use minus how much you run the fan. i breath better. seldom sneeze 🤧 any more no more air pollution plus it puts out cool air. it will oscillate or turn off or slide the vent up for the room or on me and the room. i don’t let the twelve month get that full 11 months or as i check to see the status of the filter by the remote. one three bars from the top. Dyson filters direct was over priced for one filter Amazon two less than thirty bucks. it’s same filter minus not having Dyson stamped on the filter. the other was the site was always down or in operable my last filter last all of 2022- just now put the second one in i keep them in their plastic till needed. the fan has two release buttons on the side to remove the fan . set that to one side over turn the base insert new filter. hold two buttons in click goes the top don’t force it theirs a sweet spot. hit the power hold that down reset the counter. fresh air. you pull one filter gee’s that’s what i’m breathing. toss the old one. you’ll notice a big air quality even after just a few minutes of use. yes their expensive but work, worth the price. same with their vacuum even on extended run i’m getting the whole house. the problem with other vacuum brands mele brand your out of hepa bags your out till your order comes in. as the bag gets full suction is lost. Dyson dump n go. with other brands you hope it doesn’t break or fail mele had belt failure on the head took for ever to get fixed. my dad has an original sears shop vac had a switch go new switch occasionally filter has never missed a beat.
