Good segment, Mikey. I have a Duo for this slot in the bag, but I may add a Zen25. I have a Phaze 2, so I would want something more different. Zen ball still looks good. I love your informative videos! Thank you! Re: Phaze AI being quicker off the spot. My theory would be that after drilling each ball, the AI has more asymmetry than the Idol, due to core density and/or core shape. All bowling balls are assymetric after drilling, of course, but some more so than others for the reasons I mentioned, regardless of how close the pre-drill numbers might suggest. Also, if the cover is a bit more responsive to friction then it could also affect the quickness transitioning into the roll phase. IMO

I like my Phaze AI. It took me a little over a month to get used to it due to the sharp turn at the back end. After the first two weeks of leaving a lot of splits with it, I put it away for about two weeks, then the following week, I used it in league and bowled my first 600 series!

Great video. I have an Optimum Idol Pearl and it always wants to skid on the end for me. Our lanes don’t have much backend. Maybe it is burning up early.

Phase AI has been a great league ball for me. I play straighter like a typical league bowler thanks for throwing one more like a typical league bowler so they can get an idea how the ball looks!

My girlfriend plays straighter angles so she starts the games with her Phaze II, ,then move onto her Phaze A.I., it definitely fits her game. Versus myself, i have the Optimum Idol Solid and Optimum Idol Pearl I play more around the 15th to 17th boards, standing on 23 and 25. MTang, I love your form, I love the way your ball rolls, and I wish you were still on the tour full times. But I've talked with a bunch of pros who all say it's a lot easier to make money and support their family just by running a good pro shop instead of moving about all over the country to enter tournaments unless you're a really, really top tier pro who cashes constantly and makes a bunch of TV finals. So, sadly, I have to live with your decision to do what's best for you. That said, I really disliked this video because on every shot, we don't see your actual delivery. So we don't see how hard you are throwing it, we don't see the shape of your ball as it travels downlane, and in fact all we see is a ground level view of the ball swinging out and then back in. We can't see the breakpoint and we have no idea what the ball is doing until it has actual hit the pins. This is an awful angle, and there's a reason that when they show the PBA on TV, they don't do this. For god's sake please show the entire shot from your preparation, to your approach, back swing, to release. And then, keep the damn camera still and show the ball going down lane from behind you. We are not insects. We don't watch bowling from 2 inches off the ground. Please, please, please do away with the edits before your release and just show the shot continuously, so we can actually see what in heck the ball is doing. Also as I said, I am a big fan, so it sucks that we don't see you throwing the ball. I love the things you tell us about these balls, but please show us in a way that we can actually understand. We don't need that insect's view. Thanks, and best of luck.
