It does, but it needed to end because the actors wanted to move on. Also they had to start a new series that would replace the TVD because the CW's target audience is young teens to young adults that engage in supernatural high school like drama. So by ending Originals and using it as a launching point to start Legacies along with incorporating the cast and setting of TVD; worked as the best solution to keep old fans happy as the orginals and TVD universe is continued; but keeps the Network and actors happy as they bring in new blood that can engage with their target audience.

it was the end of his journey when he was first introduced he would have killed half of mystic falls and forced the witches to do the spell then he would have forced the energy into someone else. Now he comes hat in hand to plead as a father for the magic to be put in him so he can die with it and save his daughter. He was always a complex character but here we see that he is the bare minimum an anti hero should be not a bad person but not a saint either some one with a honestly sad story about being tortured and hunted by his own father he becomes a monster just to survive. Its sad but a honorable death was the only end for him.

There will be no original vampire family that will have my heart like the Mikaelsons. They daggered each other, they snapped each other's necks, they stole each other's significant others, held them at ransom, sacrificed people, bewitched people, scared people, witches, werewolves and all of the in-between, caused the burning down of cities and villages, ruined lives of some and created the vampires within the TVD universe we knew and loved today, but through out all of that bloodshed they lived, cried, died and protected their always and forever, like a real family does. I'm still not sure if Legacies can ever live up to their ascendant shows, but I'll miss the Originals dearly.

Niklaus Mikaelson once said “i don’t t know haw to say goodbye” and thats how i feel now about tvd and the originals, a lot of people like myself have watched this show 1000 times and the same with tvd and we can never really shake the love we have for it. The actors made these shows so mush better and they taught us many lessons about friends and about family. This is not the end of tvd and the originals and they will remain in my heart Always and Forever🧛‍♀️🧛❤️

Believe it or not this show saved my life. Aww, everytime Charles smiles, it makes me automatically smile too. I know Claire and Phoebe for a long time as actresses since I watched H20 in my childhood, I still have the DVD of season 1. There are such humble human beings. Joseph is one my favourite actors since watching TVD. He and Daniel bring the two brothers to life. Nathaniel is a great guy too, Yusuf, Danielle and Riley are also great. And of course all the other members of the cast like Danielle Campell, Leah Pipes and Steven Krueger, etc. I think Leah as Camille was great.

I watched tvd and the originals respectively. I cried over stefan’s death in tvd but I really think what hit me the most was klaus and elijah’s 😔 All those final moments and dialogues between them and their family, especially with one another, it all just felt so real that I never cried THAT hard before 💔💔 Their characters were so well portrayed I can’t imagine anyone who could’ve made such impact on me more than them :((

I watched the Originals before TVD and then went back and watched TVD so obviously I'm extremely biased, but Originals has always been the better show. Though they were both amazing and im definitely upset about this.

Started watching vampire diaries at the start of lockdown with my son. Was hooked straight away upon finishing all 8 series we were told about the originals and wow you guys didn't disappoint have loved it all. Tonight we watched the last episode and my sadness is overwhelming (what can I watch now) hopefully legacies will be in the UK sooner rather than later ❤️

I can't believe this show is ending!!!! Such a great show. But, like Once Upon a Time/Penny Dreadful/NBCs Dracula, all good things must come to an end. I'll be very sad for a while after this "Original Era" is over. I'll be going through this feeling of loss next year when Game of Thrones comes to an end. Unbelievable. We will miss you all! Thank you for 5 years of great entertainment and good old vampire fun!

I just watched 5 seasons in 2 months ..this was my escape. I lost my dad 4 months ego..and this show make me get lost in this beautiful mysterious hated and loved it at the same time show. The story was amazing the acting was outstanding I can't remember the last time I enjoy the show so much and thank you to the cast and the producers for making me get through the last few months of grieving the best way I could have little bit of happiness in my life❤️❤️

In all my life, I don't remember ever being so excited about watching the stories in a show unfold and the way the characters grow in them.
