I really appreciate how she respectfully broached the subject of Martin and Tisha’s conflict. She was very careful not to take complete sides, but at the same time you kind of got the idea who the problem was within the conflict. I’m glad she’s still working. I think I remember her and Tisha from one of my fav shows as a kid called “Rags to Riches”. You could see they were talented way back then.

Bruce Lee I wonder about that Martin animation. Did they create it because he was working on other projects, or because he was still dealing with personal issues? If you notice when the animated Martin turns into the real Martin after he plops into the chair, the cast surrounds him but they're not really there on the same set. Look closely. Erika Cole Soul Kitchen but you could tell towards the last two seasons the quality changed and so did Martin’s behavior on the show. It was obvious he was under the influence the last two seasons. I even heard he went banging on Tisha’s room door and pulled a gun on set. But there’s also a rumor they were having an affair and she wanted to end it and he went nuts. I honestly don’t think we’ll ever know. I was honestly glad when Martin ended. It was like watching a car crash

I absolutely loved this show. I’m only 22, but I’m in love with the late 80s and early to late 90s. The way Tichina Arnold expressed herself was classy and articulate. She is well spoken and professional. I do agree with others, in that seasons 4-5 weren’t that great. Whilst I do think the last two season were funny,(IMO) I agree with the consensus that seasons 1-3 were considerably better. Astronomically better lol. I hope that the rumors about Martin sexually harassing Tisha weren’t true. But if it is so that he did, shame on him. Nevertheless, I still love to watch me some Martin! Seasons 2 and 3 are definitely the peak of the show. Without those seasons there really is no legacy for the series. Season 1 was slightly rough though still mostly entertaining. But seasons 2 and 3 is when the writing and the entire ensemble came into their own, the show became more brazen and it became pretty consistent. The first half of season 4 is solid and contains some of the show's best installments. But it did start to lose its freshness and was more hit and miss. Most of season 4's second half and the entirety of season 5 was a mess. Very few truly quality episodes, and the spark was just gone.

Martins personal life told it all. His marriage ended. he passed out while jogging. He got caught waiving a pistol. He directed one of my favorite movies."A Thin Line" with Regina King. Martin was very thin and sickly looking in that movie. He was definitely on something. I do believe what Tisha said about him. When people get on drugs they become a entirely new horrible person. Stiil a big fan of Martin's for life but he is to blame for things ending badly. Glad they all seem to have made peace since Tommys death.

Hollywood caught up to him like Tichina said. I wish Tisha and Martin would put the rumors to bed. From everything I've seen & heard, Martin and Tisha had been good friends for years. Their chemistry on the show was real-- and the audience could tell. Martin and Tisha had a flirtatious vibe that kept the show fresh. The kisses were real, and there was the kind of touching & messing around that happens when 2 people are cool, attracted to each other, but not dating. Then she started dating Duane Martin, and the kissing & touching wasn't cool anymore. Then when they got married, it really had to stop. Martin let the power go to his head and was like "this is my show, I do what I want." So she left. There wasn't much bad blood though, they settled the suit and she was on the last 2 episodes.

I think it was both before the marriage between Duane and Tisha I think Martin had always crossed the line with Tisha due to his fondness of her but she never really cared/noticed until the marriage because when she married Duane he most likely was on set and saw Martin crossing the line and didn't like it so he told Tisha to stop him and Tisha was prolly like it's cool this is normal it is all acting and Duane was like nah and told Martin to stop and that's when Martin got annoyed and stuck his tongue down tishas throat and she was done with it herself too because Martin went too far this time especially and Duane probably told her to file for sexual harassment against Martin so she did. Martin was prolly sad and already on drugs due to the marriage cuz he prolly did fall in love with her but it became too much when she filed against him put him over the edge. Too much was happening for him at that time. But now she ain't with Duane no more so they're all cool now so it definitely had to be him being a part in this not just martin

The show got corny, with the separate scenes, and they started following other characters, like Pam being that talent agent or whatever it was. The writers weren't doing a good job with managing the separate scenes and stories to why they weren't ever together anymore. It just didn't work.

The case was later settled. Heard all that at the time it happened. Seemed very much like the truth to me then and even more so now.

She had dropped an album around the first season of _Martin_ and it really didn't do well. So in the meantime, her music career took a backseat. By the time they started filming what would be their last season, she alleged that Martin (possibly suffering from mental illness) was sexually harassing her. And that's when the lawsuit got placed, she and Martin no longer filmed scenes together (i.e. Gina in L.A while Martin in Detroit, vice versa) and she didn't appear after for a while until the series' finale. To make matters worse, only Shenehneh made sporadic appearances when Martin wasn't in character. The last season no longer had that spark. Still highly rated, but gone.
