100% disagree. Smallville did the better job of humanizing Clark Kent. From the moment he crashed to where he started at Smallville High with Lana as a teen all the way to season 10 as he journeyed into Superman. Also Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor was 100% better in terms of storytelling and character development than the one Michael Cudlitz plays. Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor is the best live action version the next best TV version would be Jon Cryer's Lex Luthor every other version has disappointed in live action except the one from the Superman cartoon in the 90s.

This Doomsday is scarier than the original. The original Doomsday couldn't fly. This one can. But the fight is playing out differently this time. :) In space, Clark doesn't need to hold back. He punched Doomsday straight into the moon! In the original Doomsday fight, Clark was very worried about protecting everyone. And Metropolis suffered a LOT of damage. And so did he. But THIS time, on the surface of the moon, Clark can cut loose without worrying about collateral damage. I think Supes has this fight in the bag! :)

He also did let loose while fighting the original version of Doomsday while being worried about the collateral damage the fight was having on metropolis. That was the only way he was able to stop Doomsday rampage. This Doomsday on the other hand is different because it wasn't a baby created on Pre-Krypton killed and cloned over and over again this Doomsday was created from Superman so just letting loose won't be enough I'm afraid.

The thing that actually dictates good CGI is not mixing it with practical effects, it's just making it fit the lighting of the scene and the quirks of the camera to make things appear as if they're in the same area seen through the same lense. It's a huge misconception, but good practical effects on set =/= good CGI in post.

Smallville did 2/3 Zod fights and he's as much a post-cape Superman enemy as Doomsday. The little Smallville gave was...meh at best (but for Doomsday, that would have been CGI heavy and Smallville never felt like it had that budget. If it did, it was misused.) Doomsday isn't the only one that got this treatment tho. Anyone remember Bizarro? When I fist saw that season ending with Bizarro beating Clark and flying off, the hype was real. Next season, barely anything happens and he's taken out in the first episode. As much as I like Smallville, I can see that one of its biggest flaws is that it almost never delivered on season-finale fights (one notable exception being the blue kryptonite fight against Zod. That was actually pretty good). edit: not only the season-finale fights but just in general, some fights were really good but more often than not, they really dropped the ball. Apocalypse and Darkseid is an example. Bizarro coming back to get Lois(? maybe it was Lana) is another one. There are more but you get the point. It is still a great show though. A lot of the CGI has aged like milk but it still works and the air ripple effect...Flash 2014 has lightning, Smallville had that air ripple.

Just wanted to point out a small detail in case people didn't notice it, but at 3:03 you see Superman finally start getting some exposure to the Yellow Sun the further Doomsday takes him into orbit, and just like that he comes back to life, his injuries heal and his strength returns ready for round 3. Superman was having a rough time before then because it was nighttime and he had no exposure to the Yellow Sun, meaning he was fighting with what power he had with no means of recharging, which is quite a consistent trope with a lot of recent Superman VS Doomsday fights, including both animated films and Batman V Superman. The moment Superman has access to a Yellow Sun, he gains a big advantage against Doomsday.

This is why I laugh at the idea of Superman defeating Hulk. Yes, he has the _potential_ to defeat Hulk easily; however, this only works provided he acts out of character. For example, yes, Superman is faster. However, he rarely uses his speed _in combat._ He brawls. Yes, he could use his heat vision to lobotomize Hulk. However, he's done that, what? once, against Manchester Black, just to neutralize his powers. Yes, he could use lethal offense. However, restraint is an integral part of his character--that he believes, "there's always another way." Yes, he could always sun-dip to recharge himself. However, if he didn't do that in his first fight with Doomsday (where he was killed), there is little reason to believe that he would do so against Hulk. Hulk would continuously grow stronger as his anger increased, while Superman would deplete his energy primarily brawling. Then, Hulk would kill him. Of course, Superman would come back to life anyway because he's just a living solar battery, but if both of them remained true to character, Hulk _should_ kill Superman.

flash season 1 was good because of the suspense of what was going to happen. the other seasons were way too predictable. Maybe season 7 with his daughter was the other season that wasn't that predictable as well.

What I love about this show is that it really shows how much Clark Kent is the REAL persona of the character.....He might be Kryptonian, but his true power is his humanity, humbleness, love, morality and ethics.....The fact that Lois whispered his true name Clark....woke him up....he started kicking ass!!!! Incredible writing!!!

Just epic all I can say. I’m a 80s baby. Seeing this battle actually done correctly on camera is a gift all by itself. Wasn’t a fan of this show at the beginning but man the guy who plays Clark won me over through time and during this battle he solidified himself as worthy of wearing the S. He’s one of my favorites to carry the Superman name now. Keep going. Hollywood could never be this epic.

My honest opinion, Being a Superman fan all my life, and almost watching every series that contained a Superman V Doomsday battle, Even though throughout the storyline of DoomsDay's origin has been skewed. Superman and Lois was by far the best battle I have seen in years!!!!!!!! This outdid the Justice League 100%!. I hate that they had to twist how Doomsday was created but kinda sorta stayed in the lane of being genetically modified by either Zod and Lex's blood in the Genesis Chamber, but dont get me wrong taking Bizarro and corrupting him to manifest into Doomsday was badass storywriting I need though of that concept and it was on point like a MF so good move!

Have you seen the boys, where they obviously have to keep the fights super small scale because the budget won’t allow it? Yes, we all know it isn’t James Cameron level vfx, but for a CW SHOW, a SMALLTIME TV SHOW, the vfx is incredible.
