100% disagree. Smallville did the better job of humanizing Clark Kent. From the moment he crashed to where he started at Smallville High with Lana as a teen all the way to season 10 as he journeyed into Superman. Also Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor was 100% better in terms of storytelling and character development than the one Michael Cudlitz plays. Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor is the best live action version the next best TV version would be Jon Cryer's Lex Luthor every other version has disappointed in live action except the one from the Superman cartoon in the 90s.

Smallville did 2/3 Zod fights and he's as much a post-cape Superman enemy as Doomsday. The little Smallville gave was...meh at best (but for Doomsday, that would have been CGI heavy and Smallville never felt like it had that budget. If it did, it was misused.) Doomsday isn't the only one that got this treatment tho. Anyone remember Bizarro? When I fist saw that season ending with Bizarro beating Clark and flying off, the hype was real. Next season, barely anything happens and he's taken out in the first episode. As much as I like Smallville, I can see that one of its biggest flaws is that it almost never delivered on season-finale fights (one notable exception being the blue kryptonite fight against Zod. That was actually pretty good). edit: not only the season-finale fights but just in general, some fights were really good but more often than not, they really dropped the ball. Apocalypse and Darkseid is an example. Bizarro coming back to get Lois(? maybe it was Lana) is another one. There are more but you get the point. It is still a great show though. A lot of the CGI has aged like milk but it still works and the air ripple effect...Flash 2014 has lightning, Smallville had that air ripple.

This Doomsday is scarier than the original. The original Doomsday couldn't fly. This one can. But the fight is playing out differently this time. :) In space, Clark doesn't need to hold back. He punched Doomsday straight into the moon! In the original Doomsday fight, Clark was very worried about protecting everyone. And Metropolis suffered a LOT of damage. And so did he. But THIS time, on the surface of the moon, Clark can cut loose without worrying about collateral damage. I think Supes has this fight in the bag! :)

He also did let loose while fighting the original version of Doomsday while being worried about the collateral damage the fight was having on metropolis. That was the only way he was able to stop Doomsday rampage. This Doomsday on the other hand is different because it wasn't a baby created on Pre-Krypton killed and cloned over and over again this Doomsday was created from Superman so just letting loose won't be enough I'm afraid.

The thing that actually dictates good CGI is not mixing it with practical effects, it's just making it fit the lighting of the scene and the quirks of the camera to make things appear as if they're in the same area seen through the same lense. It's a huge misconception, but good practical effects on set =/= good CGI in post.

Dealing with family problems and with his kids and wife I like how they kept a certain balance with them all that keeps me coming back and not to mention the music they chose for the show. I met him at NY Comic-Con last year and the dude was cool as fuck in person. Sucks this show is ending so soon with the 4th season being it’s last I wish they could’ve kept it going like they did with smallville. Also I wish they could’ve used the death of Superman where Lois is crying holding his dead body in her arms cause she thinks he’s dead that would’ve been dope to see but this damn cliff hanger man. Just wanted to point out a small detail in case people didn't notice it, but at 3:03 you see Superman finally start getting some exposure to the Yellow Sun the further Doomsday takes him into orbit, and just like that he comes back to life, his injuries heal and his strength returns ready for round 3. Superman was having a rough time before then because it was nighttime and he had no exposure to the Yellow Sun, meaning he was fighting with what power he had with no means of recharging, which is quite a consistent trope with a lot of recent Superman VS Doomsday fights, including both animated films and Batman V Superman. The moment Superman has access to a Yellow Sun, he gains a big advantage against Doomsday.

This is why I laugh at the idea of Superman defeating Hulk. Yes, he has the _potential_ to defeat Hulk easily; however, this only works provided he acts out of character. For example, yes, Superman is faster. However, he rarely uses his speed _in combat._ He brawls. Yes, he could use his heat vision to lobotomize Hulk. However, he's done that, what? once, against Manchester Black, just to neutralize his powers. Yes, he could use lethal offense. However, restraint is an integral part of his character--that he believes, "there's always another way." Yes, he could always sun-dip to recharge himself. However, if he didn't do that in his first fight with Doomsday (where he was killed), there is little reason to believe that he would do so against Hulk. If only from the beginning they had the sort of freedom Todd Helbing has here then we might’ve had a DCTV universe worth raving about. All I can say about this show is...thank you, thank you, thank you! Thats how you do Doomsday right, it was perfect. From the brilliant orogin twist of his being the Superman of the inverse world, to Bizarro, to this. It really humanised him when you think we've followed his journey and his downfall from hero to villain. And it gies to show that no amount of fancy effects (looking at you Snyder) will ever beat brilliant storytelling. And such fantastic fan service, with the underground train station lair for Lex, Otis as his right hand man and the fight on the moon paying homage to the mich maligned fight with Nuclear Man. I honestly now can't wait for next season for it to be revealed that Sam's date Gretchen is actually Miss Tessmacher and we get Michael delivering the iconic "Miss Tessmacher!" line Just so happy to see such a iconic aeen finally given justice in Superman's 85 year. Thank you to the whole team at Superman and Lois. I have a little tear in my eye

@@shiningnight12 There is slight differences that make this take on doomsday superior than the BVS version. For starters, Superman and Lois' take on doomsday is Bizarro instead of Zod like he was in Bvs. But that isn't the change that really makes him better, it's more about how Bizarro was used instead. We got to spend time with him, we got to connect with this guy, we learned that he was a super hero from a different universe who is only on this new earth to stop a world ending event, one of which that played a role in destroying his family. This same guy would eventually end up dying for Superman, who then went on to stop that world ending threat. Fast forward to season 3, where Bizarro's body is stolen by the main villains of season 3 to use in their experiments where they of course resurrect bizarro and turn him into a mindless Zombie which Lex Luthor then exploits to kill Superman, then we learn that these experiments that the main villains of season 3 did on Bizarro caused him to become immortal, because every time he dies, he just comes back stronger, leading into the death montage where Lex kills Bizarro over and over again, which pays far more respect to doomsdays origins than Sndyer ever cared to. This only thing has him eventually involve into doomsday, and with that whole concept, it makes doomsday a very sad and compelling character with everything that he's had to go through, making us care about his transformation, so at the very least the story surrounding how doomsday is created is better. I think the CGI for doomsday is better in BVS but that doesn't mean the design itself is good, he actually looks more like a ninja turtle than doomsday, and he isn't even that intimidating because of that. But unless you're blind, the designs between the two are very different lmfao.
