Wow, fancy this, all my favorite cars of all time racing together... Though I would have loved to see a rematch on a faster track like Fuji or Sugo (with Gan-San put in one of the TVRs ;-P). On a side note, one day a TVR shall be mine in the US!!!
Brilliant I wish I had been there to see this. I have a TVR chimaera here in UK👍🇬🇧 Arigato.

TVR was always a tiny company constantly on the verge of bankruptcy. Limited funds that built nice looking and sounding but underdeveloped sports cars. It's more about how Honda are an industrial behemoth and poured millions of dollars into NSX development, rather than TVR who built these cars in a shed with the loose change they found down the back of the sofa. They really aren't track machines, can't stand up to that kicking as they are so fragile. If you buy one knowing this you'll still have a great time in it.
@hambo768 ай бұрын
Most of their development was gained from racing. They have a TVR Tuscan series and they competed in endurance races with the 440R. That said none of these cars are set up for the track specifically - maybe they should get a Tuscan S and a Sagaris next time!
I know it's a long shot, but if someone could do an English transcript it would be much appreciated :)

What do you mean its happening like 3 times in this video
@derbigpr5004 жыл бұрын
@@twinturboturkey6321 Because they're letting it, they're not even flooring the TVR's in the straight line and are shortshifting to make them slower. How do you explain a 280hp car that weighs almost 1400kg to be that much faster in a straight line than a car with 420hp, more torque and that is 300kg lighter? TVR's are MUCH faster in a straight line, not even a comparison. NSX is faster through corners, but they made the difference between them too large on purpose. Not the only example of Bestmotoring making foreign cars look slower than they are when comparing them to the NSX.

I don't agree with you guys. As far as I know they were always unbiased. They said TVR's were good cars but not good for driving on a short racing tracks like Tsukuba. They had less traction than NSX so their tires couldn't grip the road well and wasted the the power they had. Also the gears didn't fit the course. Not always NSX won the 1st and was judged as the best in their videos. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKW3p6J6iq2Cgac

Actually 02-05 NSX-R's C32B makes 310-320hp and low friction. NSX or NSX-T are better to race with TVR cars.

@@derbigpr500 NSX-R weight its 1270kg and had more than 300hp for sure... Plus this guys are familiar to drive in, TVR dont had any assists and 5 gear speed manual gearbox.

Best Motoring has been known to be biased on JDM. No surprise. They mostly hold races in Tsukuba, where supercars stand no chance because they can't put their power down properly. And if it's a tuned car facing a brand new car (especially Euro cars), they put S tires. It's more of promoting the tuning shop, really.
That NSX sure looks quicker on the straights than it should be, considering the power to weight ratio. I mean, I know it has short gearing and all, but still, it kinda doesn't add up...
@RRR_Motorsports4 жыл бұрын
Could tvr be billing their power figures?
@gumpy49604 жыл бұрын
It more than adds up, nsxr has more power than quoted and tvrs have less. Nsx has shorter gearing and better aero. Nsx has better corner exit speed and therefore carries more speed onto the straight and the list goes on
Well this is basically using a Samurai sword to cut through some custard!!

NSX-R is is definitly better in cornering no doubt, maybe breaking too , but overtaking the cerb on a straight. come on never, if both go full throttle. listen to that shift in 5:40.. it sounds like they shift down to normal idle speed :-D.. the Engines rev limit is aprox 7000.. i think no TVR in this vid ever is reved more than than 5000 with 3/4 of Pedal
@felipefernandes90533 жыл бұрын
I believe that the fact that the drivers are familiar with Honda helps a lot in these battles.

tvr's are road going cars. offcourse the track oriented nsx-r will win. it was more fair to put a normal nsx against those tvr's, although great race

When an NSX-R overtakes a Cerbera 450 in a straight line I smell a rat.
@MathsYknow5 жыл бұрын
@@siraff4461 The NSX-R probably had better corner exit speed and shorter gearing, and unlike the TVR it had an LSD and an engine which actually made its quoted power output (according to Wikipedia, the 4.5l Cerbera didn't always do that). Also, it looked like the two cars were pretty equal in a straight line and the NSX-R only passed under brakes, thanks to having ABS and a psycho Gan-san behind the wheel.
@lexburen59325 жыл бұрын
that's because its exit cornering of the nsx-r is faster, wich means it comes out faster in a straight line. has nothing to do with rats. tvr is slow in corners, means it comes out slow in a straight line. And i also suspect that the nsx-r did not had its factory tires on. Nevertheless nsx-r is overall a much better car then those unstable tvr's
@felipefernandes90533 жыл бұрын
The maximum speed of the NSX-R (factory declaration) is 280 km\h (174 mph) ... Forget the power, 1 because it’s not the only thing that counts on a track, 2 for Honda claiming 280 hp on their NSX since 1992. This engine was expanded from 3.0 to 3.2, and later came out with enhanced pistons, rods and crankshafts. The fact that the NSX-R has no power steering also counts in the final power.

Whoever was driving the TVR Cerbera was a completely incompetent driver who knows fuck all about the Cerberas power delivery. Driven PROPERLY, that Cerbera would have left the NSX quite easily. Put a proper driver behind the wheel, not that laughing pratt.
