I did the exact same thing on my 2010. I also had some of the nutserts turn. I took one of those three in one touch up paint brushes and painted the scratches in the bolt heads, around the nutsert, and the bolt. With the paint and then the clear it added another level of sealing. I have not had any leak issues despite all the rain we have here in Florida.

Great video - thanks for taking the time to do that. Prior to you pushing this one out, others I'd seen on how to do this were *bad.* For the record - the roof rack, step bars, and badging are the only things that mark that vehicle as the Z71 in the 03-06 model years. I'm personally a fan of the 03-06 MY Z71s because the roof rack and step bars give it its aggressive look (relative to the LS and LT models). Don't know if you care about the Z71 "footprints," but definitely keep that rack around - it'll only go up in demand among Z71 "purists!"

Way better without the rack !! I had an envoy long ago and the group I was in... some guys used the door moldings to cover the holes when they removed their racks. Looked clean and looked factory. Again looks good.

Looks good though!!!! Even the Hefer across the street came to watch!!! 9:18 I also purchased some of the cutting compound need to use it on my white truck. Just a idea but the pillars between the windows would be cool if wrapped those in black vinyl were they flowed with the window.
