Another great video Slim, we expect nothing less and are never disappointed either. I always love seeing what you have improved your camper with in each of these videos, and find that you are a lot like us, frugal and you have lots of common sense. I bet draining out all of that water, lightens the load of the camper. lol I was amazed at how much water came out of those spaces. Now at least if you have any leaks the water has somewhere to go, instead of just hanging out in the body of your camper. Good Job!!!! Oh and when you said that if we get excited we should stop and relax a bit, before driving on, I would never make it anywhere with that attitude, these crazy drivers now adays always stress me out. LOL Must be another reason I stay so close to home too. lol

After seeing the video you filmed of the Outback with 4 cameras coming out of the low area, it was clear how much movement there is of objects inside the trailer. I will admit I’m very fussy with my things. But, seeing you went through the expense of replacing the whole counter/wall area, I’m surprised that you would hang utensils while driving, even with the elastic strap, against that brand new wall. You usually are in wilderness settings. It’s pretty clear that wall is going to get scratched up.

I'm with you Slim. The scariest and most dangerous part of any trip is the drive. Especially here in the western US where the speed limit on Interstate highways is 75 mph! I remember back in the 1980's when they were debating raising the speed limit from 55 which it had been since the gas crisis of a decade earlier. One statistic stuck in my mind: If you crash at 55 mph, your chances of dying are one 1 out of 10. That's a little better odds than Russian Roulette. But if you're going 70 and you crash, your chances of dying jump to 1 out of 2. Flip a coin, heads you live, tails you die. The take away for me was that if I'm doing 70 (or 75!), I absolutely can NOT get in a crash!
@anitasimmons35994 жыл бұрын
Wearing a seat belt increases your chances in a crash. In Missouri last few years 60 to 75% of the highway fatalities were not wearing a seat belt.
@pimacanyon62084 жыл бұрын
@@anitasimmons3599 Wow, what a statistic! I've been wearing a seat belt for so long, it wouldn't have occurred to me that anyone these days is not wearing one. You can pass laws, but I guess there's no way to make "stupid" illegal, eh? I think one of the reasons that crashing at 70 (or faster) results in fatalities half the time is just the amount of momentum you have at that speed, and also the likelihood of doing a rollover. If you roll your vehicle at 70, pretty likely you're going to be toast.
@P_RO_4 жыл бұрын
@@pimacanyon6208 Folks tend to forget their science classes from school: energy increases at the square of velocity so a 70MPH crash will have about twice the energy of the same crash at 50MPH. But driving too slow can also be hazardous due to other traffic, so my approach is to drive at a speed which is safest overall, and if that is too fast for my liking I either stop for awhile to let the rush-hour madness go by or I branch off to a slower more sedate route. Driving should have 100% of your concentration as SP says, but you should be enjoying the journey too. A rule of life is that if you're not having a pleasant time then you're doing probably something wrong.
