I loved those runby sessions. Tweetsie Railroad may normally be a bit cheesy, but come time for Heritage Weekend and Ghost Train, they sure can put on a show with their narrow gauge locomotives.

it's nice that a former wp&yr locomotive is in use by this railroad and I have rode the white pass and Yukon route

There’s actually a few former WP&YR locos in use on various tourist railroads and theme parks. The largest users of WP&YR steam is Dollywood, with three. Those engines are 70, 71, and 192. 192 is of the same class as 190, and 70 and 71 are of the same class as 73 up in Alaska.

because it's whistle sounds like the white pass and Yukon route engine 73 and number 12's sounds like one that a Cass scenic railroad shay uses

Boy, you really got me going, You got me so, I don't know what I'm doing. A song recorded by British Pop Group The Kinks, in case you were wondering where I got the lyrics from.

The whistle heard on the 190 in this video isn't its original. The whistle it came to Tweetsie with from the White Pass & Yukon is an old Rio Grande 5 chime that can be heard in videos of the first day of the 2008 Railfan/Heritage Weekend and videos of both days of the 2019 Heritage Weekend.

Did you hear that UP 844 will be in Memphis, TN in October?
@SmokyMtnSteam8 жыл бұрын
It's certainly on my radar, but I highly doubt I'll be able to go see it. I'll probably have to wait for them return to the Mississippi in the summer in a few years.
