This Orange thing is most strange. These people say that they are British but they are from Ireland are they not? They are not from Britain. I don’t see the Orange movement is anywhere in Britain. So it is not British. It is all most strange.

This may come as a shock to you, but as a matter of fact I am currently in third level education (University to those that don't comprehend) but the throwing of throwing of petrol bombs would hardly fall within the category of attempted murder as it would take many hours to burn to death in any case, let alone from a clandestine (makeshift) incendiary device.Your "shoot to kill" policy comments are reminiscent of 1800's law tactics, and therefore have no place in contemporary matters

And what about the rights of the people of Ireland? what about the rights of our children to grow up in a non violent province? An atack on religious freedom!! try and engage your brain before writing such nonsense, this has nothing to do with religion, its about a small minority of people refusing to accept that where they live sits on the soil of the island of Ireland!! Lets not talk about the rights of the people who's very kin owned that lad before these people were planted by the British...

Two opposing cultures - British tolerance means that people have the right to walk down public streets. The Irish republican mindset is that a road can be 'ours' and we decide who can walk on it. You choose who's mindset is correct.

Paulo Chan The parade goes through a main road. On that road are some shops. Behind those shops is the Catholic housing estate. The parade does not nor did not go through a Catholic area.
@TheMATTYB12348 жыл бұрын
Paulo Chan I'm afraid it is not 'close enough'. Your map is not correct. The green area to the left side of the Crumlin Road has no houses facing the road. Your map implies there is, through it's use of the green colour. It is a green area (literally) - it has trees and grass - followed by the Holy Cross Church and grounds. The only residential houses in those blocks shown is the back of Woodvale which is a Protestant area. The march most definitely goes PAST the Catholic housing area - it does NOT go THROUGH it. The fact it is a main thoroughfare negates your argument. The analogy you seek would be `Catholics / Republicans walking on a main road as part of a religious organisation, that has deep historical roots, and a culture of marching, walking PAST a protestant / Loyalist are where several shops form the interface. In that situation - Yes, I would support that organisations right to march. Your analogy was not properly constructed therefore fails. With all rights come responsibilities - so to answer a broader question - would I support the right of Loyalists to march through Ardoyne - NO. It would be irresponsible. Would I support you and your friends marching through the Shankill? NO - It would be irresponsible.
@TheMATTYB12348 жыл бұрын
Paulo Chan Wow. That was quite a response. If you re-read my last comment you will see how I said I would not support a Loyalist parade going through a Catholic residential area. In a free and tolerant society, we can respect different traditions and aspects of culture without all the hate. I acknowledge that may be too difficult for you.

Paulo Chan Sorry - I thought I was communicating with an adult. Funny how all nationalists end up resorting to your kind of post. A bit of logic, some facts, and you all crumble. Bye!
