I'm not sure what this song really means, but to me and how it relates to my life, I think it's talking about how even though you may act happy around everyone else you can be totally sad on the inside. It's like you're putting on an act everyday or "Faking everyone out". And when you try to tell someone, they say that you aren't alone, and that it's ok, but you end up feeling worse and breaking apart. You're always afraid of what people will say so you just stay quiet. You are constantly fearing that you won't live up to other's expectations, and what they "see inside". You feel imprisoned in a cell and you can't let your feelings out to be "free", but there's no one to talk to, or someone who will take you seriously....

Man. I don't know. This band has so much meaning to me, It's insane. Tyler Joseph is such genius. His song lyrics have so much meaning. Their songs are "worth listening to", but if you pay attention to them, and understand their message, you'll truly understand what this band (specially Tyler) has gone through. Some of their songs might sound like happy sounds, but that's because the message isn't as obvious as you think. And that's why I love so much this band. They express theirselves in music in such a beautiful way, I can't even. About this song: (Tyler quotes" “Lyrically it just talk about what it talks about. It’s hard for me to explain it. . . . It’s really about just putting on a facade for people. You know I think about being on stage, trying to look cool. . . . I’m trying to look cool just so that people think that, like, I’m worth listening to or something. This song kind of touches on how we constantly have to, like, lie to people about who we really are. And it gets dangerous when you start lying to yourself. And so I like this song ’cause it’s a moment of honesty for me.” So Tyler is trying to tell that we are constantly lying to people about who we really to make them like us, and it's a moment of honesty for him. Also, in the song "Run and Go", Tyler says "I'm not the one you know". Each song has a connection if you think about it. Even in "Car Radio": 'sometimes quite is violent" and in "Fake You Out" he says, 'And silence gives you space". I can explain these connections (kind of). The first line of the rap: "It's the same game today as it always is" I believe that Tyler is trying to say that his struggles and insecurities are still messing around with his mind, and instead of hurting him phisically, it hurts him mentally, because he keeps thinking about the mistakes he have done in the past. And the last 2 lines of the rap: "Before you walk away, there's one more thing I want to say Our brains are sick but that's okay". If you actually understood the song lyrics, then you'll know that this is a very dark and an emotional song, but, when Tyler says "Our brains are sick but that's okay", he’s saying we need to not lie to ourselves and we need to be careful about faking others out too. I love all of their songs, every song is my favourite. I'm so glad I was born in twenty one pilots era. Thank you Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. Thank you.

What a brilliant song from a Christian perspective! The lyrics and happy tune portray a very relatable experience for everyone, but especially the anonymity / distant feeling when we separate from God. Struggling in our faith in Christ. Like sometimes he really does feel twice as far as the closest star. Cos sometimes you fall down in your faith journey, and break, indeed. In that serious struggle, you’ll fake being alright to the public, but yourself too. It affects our relationship w/ God and thus we’re anxious, depressed, caged, etc. My interpretation of the verse, “It's the same game today as it always is I don't give you space to speak my name explaining this” Is Tyler telling the audience that it’s not in his name to explain what he said is true. Because it is. But it’s in His name-Jesus. Meaning, that this game of anxiety and worry and stress we all as humankind endure and battle, some harder than others respectively, is part of this Great Controversy between The kingdom of God vs Satan, that’s happening now from sin and rebellion, “That remind me of all the times I have committed dirty, dirty crimes that are perfectly form-fitted.” Everyone has sins they choose and are well fitted with their false identities. We are all wretched in deep ways only ourselves and God knows, that only He can rescue us out of. “What kids are doing, they're killing themselves They feel they have no control of their prisoner cell” This will sound preachy, but it’s in good faith that my interpretation of this verse leads to: only Jesus Christ can help you. Rescue you from any prisoners cell or deep dark struggles that your soul needs a cleanse and rebirth in. Wherever you’re at in this game we’re all under (an eternal depressing game) you WILL make it. Don’t let the enemy have your mind. Take a hard truthful look at yourself and life, and repent-admit you actually DON’T have it together in fulfilling your identity with you hearts desire’s cos they don’t satisfy. Because Life IS too precious to lose for anyone, regardless. Suicide will never be the answer. The Father of Lights-God, our Heavenly Father-will enrich your life like no other if you choose Him, and give you a life with Him so real and alive than what you’re capable of thinking. Anyway, great song. Definitely an underrated Christian artist how he delivers the message, but they’re music reached me before I believed and now looking back, I am so glad God was there and working His Spirit through their music to finally have me. I thoroughly enjoy being a child of God, the Greatest King and Lord. The most loveliest and merciful God there is. Come to Jesus. You won’t ever regret it, even when you’ve fallen again.
