this song honestly scares me so much. I saw something somewhere that made a lot of sense. So basically, there is two versions of this song. one when blurryface is defeated, and one when he wins. This whole album is Tyler trying to defeat blurryface and this version of goner is the last song on the album which is sort of the last battle between Tyler and his insecurities (blurryface). Throughout most of this version, if you listen, there are disorted voices under the music, which, I THINK, is blurryface and Tyler arguing. The voices continue and then tyler sings "Don't let me be gone" loudly and there is a loud underlying noise once he sings it, which is when Tyler attacking Blurryface. The song then becomes extremely louder compared to the rest of the song because Tyler and Blurryface are now at war. It goes on and then Tyler sings "You" for the last time and the noises stop and the song becomes quiet again which means Tyler has defeated Blurryface. The next version, is the one Tyler and Josh uploaded of it when they were still working on it. It's the opposite of this version, one where Blurryface wins. In that version, there is no loud battle between the two, Tyler just gives up and lets Blurryface take over and win. Throughout the song, you can hear a loud eerie noise that sounds like a rope swining back and forth with something heavy tied to it, which could be Tylers body (gotta blast i'm starting to get emotional). This could mean Blurryface wins by pushing Tyler to commit suicide. At the end, the most scary part to me, Is the screech from Blurryface which is incredibly loud. Twenty one pilots are amazing song writers, I can't even begin to put it into words. The lyrics Tyler writes are so deep and I think most of the clique can relate to them. Tyler is so poetic and he puts so much emotion into his songwriting. It truly is amazing, And I respect Tyler and Josh so much.

One of the reasons I like this song is because it's an example of set up and pay off. It starts with a simple cord progression but it never finishes, and each time they cut the loop they cut it later and later slowly building tension and expectation not unlike an EDM drop BUT instead of the beat just building then going away and coming back stronger there is also a sub conscious need for the cord progression to finish and after all that build up when it feels like you can barely breathe the drums come in and it's glorious
