Recommendation list in order to understand the growth of the band and meaning behind their lyrics (last 3 albums are conceptual): 1st lane : Vessel album - Ode to sleep (music video) - Car radio (music video) - holding on to you (music video or live from Fox theater) - guns for hands (music video) - migraine (The live room version) - trees (live from fox theater ! - song with one of the biggest meaning for Tyler , he wrote it a looong time ago in high school ) 2nd line : blurryface album - stressed out (music video, huge song that made them so popular right now) - lane boy (music video) - ride (live from Fox theater) - hometown (lyrics video) - tear in my heart (music video) - the judge (lyrics video) - fairy local (music video) - message man (lyrics video) - goner (live from fox theatre , ending of the album) - Heavydirtysoul ( music video - this one is the connection to the next album, start of storyline) 3rd line : Trench album - jumpsuit ( music video , connected to hvdrtsl) - nico and the niners (music video, next one in saga) - levitate (music video, next one in saga) - chlorine (music video) - the hype (BOTH, album and Berlin session versions ) - my blood (music video) - pet cheetah (lyrics video) - morph (lyrics video, a bit of connection to storyline) - Heathens ( music video, spin off, not from any album but have a lot of small connections to story) - neon gravestones (lyrics video, influence to the story) - legend (lyrics video) - bandito (lyrics video, huge connection in storyline) - leave the city ( lyrics video, ending of era ) 4th line : Scaled and Icy album - Shy away (music video) - Choker (music video) - Saturday (music video) - No chances - Redecorate 5th line (extra) - TOP x Mutemath session - stripped down storyteller session by Tyler - kitchen sink (live version) - fall away (feat dr. Blum) - level of concern (official video) - blasphemy, drown (from Tyler's solo project he made in high school) - taxi cab (live SiriusXM) - cut my lip (lyrics video) - House of gold (official video) - Forest (live Newport music hall ) - Car radio (captured in The live room) - Friend please (animation video) - March to the sea (lyrics video) - Trapdoor (lyrics video) - Isle of flightless birds (lyrics video)

This video gives me so many goosebumps!!! I love how Tyler & Josh were just as passionate with 12 people as they were with 15,000. I think that’s just part of the reason they became so successful so quickly.

fans of the band are called the 'skeleton clique' or clickies for short. Named after the skeleton hoodies they wore when performing on stage. You're right about how they made the video, had been performing the song for a while, with their friend, Mark Eshelman, capturing footage of early shows (he was the one who was skeptical about recording small shows, Tyler convinced him to do it) and then decided to put some of the clips together to form this video, the audio cuts between studio version at the start and then switches to the live recording for the last, big concert. Car radio or Stressed Out would be good to do next (Stressed Out is probably the one you've already heard)

I am a huge fan and I'm 60 , they don't make a bad song and their concerts are amazing. I've seen them twice and I've seen many bands in 70's, 80's, 90's, they are by far the best band live I've ever seen. Love, Love, Love them.

As with all things twenty one pilots... the band name has more depth than you might think at first glance. Tyler came up with the name while studying "All My Sons" by Arthur Miller. A play about a man who commits suicide after causing the death of twenty one pilots during World War II because he knowingly sent them faulty parts for the good of his business. Tyler said it was to remind them to always make the right decisions, even when they weren't the easiest ones to make.

honestly, i'm 36 years old and I am sitting here at 4:30 in the morning in Los Angeles writing a fucking dissertation on what I think about this band randomly because I just randomly watched your video right now that you guys apparently put up 15 hours ago… And I just think it's funny because that's how much of an impact this band has on me at my age which is hilarious because never in 1 million years did I think another band would have any impact on me let alone this much of an impact. I thought I'd probably like some songs here and there but fuck these guys are good! Keep watching them guys keep watching them I don't even know who you guys are but just keep washing them I promise you you won't be disappointed! If you like music that is… Anyway moving on to my crazy dissertation here so, never did I think after college a band would resonate with me so strongly like this one. I'm 36 I had my favorite bands that I was obsessed with in college I was in a band I toured I loved it Lotta Lotta nothing big silly stuff whatever. But honestly when I first started listening to these guys in like 2015 every single song not most every single song I've listen to I've absolutely adored. Tyler is an absolutely incredible artist he's unique and like you said he's original everything sounds like their own sound. And for something that I am very amazed that is the fact that these guys are in their 30s, Tyler just had a kid both of them just got married Josh just move back to Ohio Tyler has never left Ohio he sticks to his roots he has his wife who he loves dearly he doesn't do drugs never has never will supposedly so he says and he's not narcissistic and what was me look at me look at me I'm doing drugs I'm so sad I am turning 30 and I want to be relevant yada yada they just are relevant and their music just is good and they are the only band that I know of has surpassed their adolescence and their young adulthood into the 30s with grace and reverence and are still making music that's better than the music they wrote the day before type of thing and they have amazing lore with their music and they have unbelievable packaging and branding that they come up with themselves and they'll do anything from dancing with dancers and background singers and trumpets to rapping to playing the piano to having an Elton John lake song they are the most versatile band I have ever listen to and I respect them more than any band I've ever listen to. And I would love for anyone to name a band that's even close to as versatile as they are really. I think Tyler has an amazing voice I personally think it's absolutely phenomenal yes there are singers that are mechanically better if you know what I mean or whatever like they're technically better but I think Tyler's voice is fucking phenomenal and he can do so much with it including yelling including IMO like he hits all genres their music is dope as fuck and they're just a really really good fucking band and they stay true to themselves and I think that's so fucking dope because you know how it is in the business everybody gets all fucking look at me look at me and they get way too caught up in the stardom and they just make asses out of themselves and they care about paparazzi yada yada paparazzi knows that they're not gonna get anything out of these dudes and they're just gonna be fucking awesome in there Bandidos chasing after them and following their lore and doing their thing but they are just fucking dope their stories behind their music is awesome it's complex it's cool they respect and they give a lot of credit to their fans and they expect a lot out of them they figure out all kinds of crazy shit on the computer like codes and all the shit for secret letters and all the stuff yada yada I mean I'm not into all that but I think that there are an incredibly great band that know how to market that know how to package and frankly know how to write good fucking music... FUN FACT!! I don't know if you guys know this but fun fact… They are the only band not the Beatles not Michael Jackson not anyone else they're the only band ever to write two full albums that every single song On both of these albums went either gold or platinum that's pretty fucking incredible if you ask me! For fun watch them except their award for their Grammy when they took their pants off it's pretty silly…

My husband and I took our two kids to a show…and I figured it would be good but I was blown away!! I’ve been a huge fan since and I’m in my 40s. Tyler is insanely talented…but I like that he’s very humble and has put in tons of work to get there. It’s neat to see 5 year old kids and 80 year old people there. It’s a beautiful thing. They put on the best show I’ve ever been to. I’ve seen them twice and I’ve got tickets to three shows this fall. 🎉🎉🎉

You said what?! 😂 oh you gonna get attacked 😂 the clique be like that sometimes 😬 The age thing - they attract die hard fans from kids - 70/80 year olds which I love. Me 48 haven’t loved a band so much since I was a teen. I’ve heard of 4 generations of one family attending a concert together. What kind of music is it - the ultimate question- with no answer - they are twenty one pilots-that’s it. The only answer is they are both self taught & draw inspiration not from particular bands but a multitude of songs & music. Tyler has said he did not know the ‘laws’ of song writing so he writes what he likes. Don’t know if you’ve done it but Lane Boy sums it up. Also there is a multitude of lore behind them that needs a deep dive- they are beyond just a band when it comes to giving their fans content

"HOLDING ONTO YOU" Concert at Fox Theater, best live performance! "LANE BOY", "HEAVY DIRTY SOUL" were 2 videos caught my attention 1st! "FAIRLY LOCAL" very underrated song, 1st heard Tyler screaming in a song. Then realized they did Heathens, Ride, Stressed Out! Great Reaction!

in this song, you get lost in the video and the music (like a lot of their songs) but the lyrics are extremely complex and deep - the entire song is about internal struggles and demons coming in at night (hence ode to sleep to get rid of them) - the entire last verse is about him doubting his faith and struggling with not promoting God in his music and hiding his faith under metaphors - "i'm afraid to tell you who i adore, won't tell you who i'm singing towards" - "metaphorically i'm a whore and that's denial #4" is a reference to the Bible and St. Peter denying knowing Jesus three times - and Tyler feels like by being a Christian, but not promoting it in his music he is also denying God (he doesn't want to be labeled as a Christian artist) If you do their song Lane Boy - they do an entire song on how they don't want to stick with one genre even though that's what the music world wants them to do - it's hard to promote a band that doesn't fit into one genre b/c you'll have radio stations who only want to play pop or rock or rap, etc. - Tyler has always said he wants to make music he would want to listen to and he doesn't listen to just one genre i'm not sure if anyone commented the story of the band name, but it comes from a play called All My Sons - in the play, the main character is an airplane manufacturer and he produced parts that he knew were faulty and had to make a decision of whether he would send them off for pilots to use and make his money, or he recalls the parts and doesn't make any money - he chose to send the faulty parts out and 21 pilots ended up dying because of that decision - so they said it reminds them that no matter what comes along, they will be pushed to make the right decision, even if other options look more attractive A couple more early ones to do: Car Radio Lane Boy Migraine Trees (Live from Fox Theater)

Yes it's real footage! You can say that every TØP song is different sound haha. Also, this is an amazing song about trying to overcome our demons, but knowing they always come back. This song was originally released on their album Regional at Best in 2011, and about half the songs were redone for their Vessel album in 2013 as part of their contract with Fueled By Ramen.

I enjoyed your reaction, It makes me happy to see that you want to listen more. The most popular songs that you may heared of are stressed out, Ride, heathens and maybe heavydirtysoul. I suggest to react to holding on to you live at Fox theatre or trees (Fox theatre too). I think their best album is trench, so reacting to songs of that album like My Blood it would be great. And also... There's a story behind the last three albums and you can watch a bit of the story watching this officials videos in this order: heavydirtysoul, jumpsuit, Nico and the niners and levitate. I'm 100% after this you two will want to listen to all the albums hahahaha nice video!!
