“What does it sound like live?” I was not a huge TOP fan when I first heard them just because I found “Stressed out” to be whiney millennials complaining. That was before I listened to their stuff in any real way. But in 2019 I took my daughters to see them on the Bandito tour as a 44 year old man. It ended up being the greatest concert I have ever been to, as well as the greatest sounding show along with all of the other surprises along the way. They never missed a beat and the crowd is into it the entire show. These guys bring the crowd in better than anything I have ever seen, including better than Freddie Mercury. The show itself is probably a top five experience in my life. Maybe because of seeing my girls so happy, maybe because “Trees” live is such an event to close a show. But I recommend watching any of the Live at Fox Theater videos if you can’t go to a show.

YO! you gotta check out their MTV unplugged that debut last night. it was unbelievable to experience. tyler and josh created all the beats and loops live during the show. i’ve never seen anything like it tbh. plz plz react to it soon lol. love y’all’s reactions so far.

the footage is all real and this is the correct version - you can tell especially with tyler how much different he looks in 2011 vs 2014 - the reason the video expanded later on is because it was finally recorded in HD in 2014 the third portion was also live audio from that concert (you can hear the fans in the background) - it wasn't the recorded version anymore the song is really deep too if you get into the lyrics - a lot of struggles with internal demons and the last part is all about his struggle with faith I'd recommend Car Radio Migraine Lane Boy

it was the official music video, Fueled by Ramen is their record label, their early videos were released on that channel, more recent videos are on their own channel. their friend Mark has been documenting the band from really early on (he is now their videographer and creative director and directed the Stressed Out music video), they decided to include clips from early shows he filmed in the video to kinda tell the story of the bands growth over a few years. they have always been really open about using tracks to fill out their sound and they released an mtv unplugged performance today that is worth checking out where they build out their tracks in real time in front of the audience to create new versions of several of their songs.

It sounds like they corrected it once they did all the research seeing if it was the actual video. The speed sounds normal around the 6:30 mark.

We hear you Jes. It was off to a slow start. The style that they used for creating the video really had us second guessing the legitimacy of the video. So we had to go double check. We thought it was worth leaving in the video because in the end... that's our reaction to it.

The live from Fox theater performances are fantastic, and if you really want a treat, check out their MTV “unplugged” recorded live earlier this year… although it’s better if you’re already familiar with the original versions of all the songs in that set because each one is a mashed up re-imagining of their older songs - it’s amazing though!

Regarding your comment on backing track. Yes, Twenty One Pilots has never been shy about the fact they play to backing tracks in their live shows. Right from the song writing process they are already planning out how the song will sound live. Some think this is a bit like cheating, but you are right. It isn't easy. They are very serious musical and dedicated to their craft. The put on an awesome show, and always played as hard whether 12 people or full stadium. Just like on Ode To Sleep.
