you're right, this song is about going for what you want and not being modest - it's inspired by his little brother the video has a lot going on that still hasn't been figured out yet they have a live album release on May 21 if you're interested in that - live performance with their new album and old songs mixed in

Awesome reaction! The song is meant for and about his little brother, Jay. Jay wants to pursue music and asked Tyler to show him how he makes a song, so as Tyler was making this song as a blueprint the lyrics became about what it means to be a big brother and to watch someone you love trying to find their purpose in life and, as you put it perfectly, telling his brother to grow and break the cycle. Jay actually released his first EP, "Drywall," under his name Jay Joseph in March. Very much an alternative-rap style and all four songs are (fire) available on his KZbin channel if you're interested.
