Even though this was played nonstop on the radio it was hard to escape it, but I’m glad when reactors dive into the lyrics. There’s a difference between “hearing” a song and “listening” to a song. And this video captures nostalgia so well! Yes, these were their actual childhood homes and their families. He shared a room with his brother. Those were his basketball trophies 🏀 🏆 Tyler turned down a basketball scholarship to pursue music. If you keep going down the TOP rabbit hole, you will see the secret bro handshake again 😼

Great song & reaction. My faves are the usual, but top TØP is "Car Radio." No doubt you've heard "Heathens" and "Ride" but fun too. Loved your breakdown of "Lane Boy."

These are their childhood homes and families in Columbus, OH - the families were actually still living in the homes at this point, but have since moved Tyler and Josh are both 34 now, I believe the deep voice at the end is Blurryface - this is from the Blurryface album - basically Blurryface is the personification of insecurities/bad thoughts/etc - throughout the album, Tyler (lead singer) battles with Blurryface i'm assuming you've also heard Ride and Heathens - although there is a great live performance they released last year of Heathens mixed with Stranger Things - i'd recommend Car Radio, Lane Boy, or Migraine

Btw - pay attention to their use of colors. Pretty much everything is intentional and the use of symbols carries across their albums. Red is the color for Blurryface, which is not only the name of this album, but a character that is the personification of Tyler’s fears and insecurities that control him. That’s also why he has black on his throat and hands, the control Blurryface has over what he creates. If you recall the lyrics from Chlorine (from the next album Trench) there’s a lot of reference to red. The lyric “I felt I was invincible you wrapped around my head” likely refers to the red beanie he is wearing in this video. He wears it anytime Blurryface is involved. And sometimes he will also use the red eyes and pitched down vocals. I think you would also really like “Fairly Local” - that’s another song where you see his internal battle with Blurryface. It’s one of my favorites.

Good reaction, really liked your commentary. We def don't mind the pausing and talking, it's what we're here for :) New sub, excited to see more TOP from you. Would suggest Car Radio, Lane Boy, and Ode to Sleep as other starters. Official vids are great because they put so much into every detail of everything they do, but they are phenomenal live! Not to worry, the Clique (TOP fans) will guide you. I see you've done Migraine, imma check that out next! (And yay! I was the 21st Like!! Wuhoo!) |-/ 💛

Without going into a 3 paragraph comment about twenty one pilots(I’m sure u will get some to explain more about them), 2 people Tyler Joseph (singer, bass guitar, piano, ukulele) Josh Dun(drums). Tyler writes ALL music. This song from BLURRYFACE album along with Ride and Heathens(I’m sure you have heard them) shot them to stardom. BLURRYFACE (his alter ego) represents Tyler’s insecurities(throat and hands covered in paint in video to try and hide his vocals and piano playing). “My name is BLURRYFACE and I care what you think) also at the end of the video the scary voice is BLURRYFACE. I would highly recommend jumping down this rabbit hole. I can tell u appreciate the lyrics, sound and total overall music. It’s said that there’s all different kinds of genre of music and then there’s 21 pilots. I would recommend doing songs from vessel album first. Whole album deals with mental health issues, depression, anxiety, and even suicide. Both band members have dealt with this topic personally. “Guns for hands” “car radio” “holding onto you” and migraine” would be my choices. Not sayin it’s your main goal, but if u post more of their music you will get many more subscribers. Appreciated your first reaction, looking forward to more.

As far as reactions, probably good to start with the Vessel album. Tyler refers to this as the "first album" (Self titled in 2009 was recorded with a different bassist and drummer before Josh joined with Tyler to form a 2-piece.) The aforementioned choices by Howard are good. Blurryface was a semi-thematic album with one adversary, although you don't necessarily need to hear songs sequentially - they more or less can stand alone as singles. Once you progress to their next album Trench, it takes the general subjects of the previous 2 albums and really builds out a storyline and lore. For that album, there is a specific order to watch the official videos and some things take a while to pick up and understand. Tyler had basically dropped a bunch of cookie crumbs and coded messages for months leading up to release, and the fans (the "Skeleton Clique") ate it up and decoded things to understand what was happening. Very cool the relationship the band has with the Clique. Then the most recent album Scaled and Icy was a more pop-driven album in general and there is even a storyline behind the music style - this album was the second of the "Dema trilogy" and the next album set to release either late this year or next will be the final album in the trilogy.

We love our reactors!!! How much of their non-radio songs have you heard? Or songs from their Self Titled album? Or their newest album? Or live performances? If you have heard stuff on the radio without going into their full discography, maybe try something different. The love Britain's always have a different feel to them and some performances, like the sessions or MTV Unplugged have slightly to greatly different versions of the songs we thought we knew. Go for it! We'll be here! Oh, and stop to talk at much as you want. I think we'll all be fine with it. Yeah!!!

Agree!! Live reactors, especially if they actually react and give their opinions. Pause as much as you want!!

Loved your reaction. You picked up on and commented on so much more than most reactors. Tyler has a unique voice for sure. I’m subbing. Have you done Ode to Sleep official vid? It gives more of their origin story. May just want to use some type of watermark or something over the vid to keep the hounds at bay so your vid doesn’t get taken down. Awesome work.

Hey Skeleton Clique, I just noticed Josh is wearing stars and Tyler has stripes on his shorts, is this a reference to the flag? Everything in their videos is deliberate, especially what they wear, so it made me wonder.
