Twilight Princess: English Dub - Chapter 9 "Clash in the Cold"

Link travels to Snowpeak in order to search for one of the Mirror shards. He meets Ashei who warns him about the bitter cold of the mountain. There's also word about a beast-man who appears frequently in Zora's Domain. What is the cause of these events, and how will Link overcome them?

To all you people who think "voice acting is easy"... I have to tell you all that my work in this dub was NOT easy. If my performance as Yeto in this episode was not a shining example of that, I don't know what is. I spent over half an hour recording and re-recording his lines (including ones where I slipped up), while doing my best to maintain the right pitch, the right growly/throaty voice, and a difficult-to-maintain Scandinavian accent. As one might tell, this did a number on my throat to the point that I was in legitimate pain and needed a full day to recover. But I carried on and managed to finish my lines the very next day. When I finally completed my lines and sent them to the director, I seriously told him "this is the best I can offer, take what you have, because I'm not doing these lines again". This is the harsher part of being a voice actor--doing voices that are uncomfortable-even painful-to contribute to something that you want to be good. With that in mind, I hope you appreciate what I had to go through for the sake of your entertainment. THIS was the hardest performance I ever had to give and I know that I'll inevitably do more in the future.

Thing is...can you really look at some of the great acting performances, and say something similar? Voice acting...is still acting, at the end of the day. Oh yeah, take good care of your voice, Tyler. Don't destroy your most needed instrument!

Oh, goodness! I really liked Yeta when she was normal and cute, but when the Mirror of Twilight's curse took hold of her, she became ferocious and scary! Aderu did an amazing job in portraying that! Well done!

AderuMoro, way to scare the heck out of me with your "NOT TAKE MIRROR!" combined with the game footage. That's a good thing, because I'm not scared easily. Way to go! Anyways, this is an excellent chapter to the story, can't wait to see Zant get his comeuppance. And that pumpkin soup is absolutely yummy to make irl (I should know my sis and I made it once, but we made it with chicken instead of fish). Oh yes, and to Mr. DTylerFultzVA, your Yeto was like a big teddy bear, one I could hug. I also detected a hint of Darunia and a pinch of Bowser in it too. Yeto pushing Link is probably my favorite joke in the game. First time I watched it, it made me feel uncomfortable because of the horror vibe this hole dungeon had (like, I knew one of the two yetis would end up being a monster but I didn't know which) so I thought this would end up with him trying to cook Link alive. But no, turns out he's just a fucking communist, your food is also his food and he has no problem in tossing your ass away to take it.

Twilight Princess is my absolutely favorite game of all time. the characters are just so memorable. this episode reminded me of one of my favorite parts in the game, when yeto kept shoving you to take the food you had on you XD

Snow Peak Ruins, my second favorite dungeon in terms of overall story and characters you meet. It's less about finding keys and more about going on a scavenger hunt for gadgets, which is a nice change from a typical dungeon crawling formula. Ashei, the most badass and reserved of the Resistance Lovelies, is wonderfully executed by Mirisha. Melody makes a lovely Beth, which I may have said before, just as Nicki makes a fun and sassy Midna. Ralis sounds surprisingly grown up, and British, but I wish it didn't sound like he was underwater too (Love the Serenade of Water cover used there, Rutella's theme and one of several OoT songs remixed for TP.) Shout out to John for being a wonderful Hero's Shade. Tyler and Heidi T. (aka AderuMoro), the cutest Yeti couple in Hyrule. Props to Tyler for throwing his voice out to provide a huggable, if PUSHY, snow monster to us (YETI JOKE! lol). And whoo on Blizzeta being scary.

Pretty good nice episode! And I agree completely with the comments, Heidi Tabing made Yeta fantastic and so real! I also bid her congratulations for her perfect voice work on this character. And yet, even Tyler Fultz made great voice work for the nice and funny Yeto! Not to mention that Mirischa Lottich also did a good and fitting voice for Ashei as well. :) Well done you all and keep it up your great works! :D

I applaude the people who voiced both Yeto and Yeta, they were well portrayed here. I especially gotta hand it to Yeto's voice actor, as I could understand that a voice like his wouldn't have been easy to pull, at least when regarding the amount of force he had to put into his vocals. He earns my condolences and congratulations. He really made him sound unique with how goofy and gruff the voice was, especially with his speech style. Same goes for Yeta, who was given a cute and soft voice when normal and then a shreiking and crazy voice when corrupted by the Twilight Mirror shard. Very nice. I also remember laughing the first time I heard the music behind the snowboarding sequence Link had, thinking that you guys really treated it like a game all of it's own. Ironic given that there is a side game in Twilight Princess where you can race both Yeto and Yeta after completing the Snow Mountain Ruins.

This chapter was a lot of fun to watch. I certainly enjoyed Yeto, but man you missed the funniest part lol. Remember in the game when Yeto was standing over the soup humming that tune? Maybe you can have it in the special edition version "coming to a theatre near you" lol. I would love to give voice acting a go but I certainly don't think it would be easy.
