This is why it’s SO important for if someone has an idea, such as a script or whatever - to write it down, mail themselves a copy, and never open it. That way, they have physical proof and time stamp of when they came up with the idea. However, also.. Quantum entanglement is very real, and people, often, get the same/similar ideas, at around the same time (there are even incidents in history, where patent were submitted on the same day, for the same design - and the people lived half way across the world from each other, and had never met). However, having that piece of mail has the potential to solve some legal problems, depending on the circumstances - in regards to providing if someone copied another or not. I learned this when I was pursing working in entertainment.

For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of it, but it was almost 1:1 with the Host, with slight changes to the names of the characters and the alien races. I thought it was strange, so i asked my exes' mom about it, and she said it was a pretty common thing for bigger name authors to buy out books/plots of stories that flopped long before to publish them under their name for modern audiences.
