As a mental health professional, I’ve noticed that one of the most common delusions people have is that someone stole their idea/book/script/song etc… I’ve heard this story a million times.

This is why it’s SO important for if someone has an idea, such as a script or whatever - to write it down, mail themselves a copy, and never open it. That way, they have physical proof and time stamp of when they came up with the idea. However, also.. Quantum entanglement is very real, and people, often, get the same/similar ideas, at around the same time (there are even incidents in history, where patent were submitted on the same day, for the same design - and the people lived half way across the world from each other, and had never met). However, having that piece of mail has the potential to solve some legal problems, depending on the circumstances - in regards to providing if someone copied another or not. I learned this when I was pursing working in entertainment.
@bekichan91
@bekichan91 8 ай бұрын
@@XOChristianaNicole mailing a copy for proof purposes works only to prove that you have the original version of a work - you cannot copyright an idea James Cameron's Avatar follows the same storyline as Disney's Pocahontas, but it's execution was different enough to be safe, there's no actual verbatim lines taken from Pocahontas, and no one would mistake the two.

@uncarley @monique_wangra Yes. I voiced Edward's lines while one of the other folks (usually the least vampire friendly and more of a Teen Wolf guy) would voice Jacob's. Usually my best lady friend had Bella's lines. Relationship goals :P @turkicnomad5632 I didn't look like Edward but since we were vampy folk ever since the vampire diaries books, and the Twilight movies didn't reach us until 2010, nobody minded. Also, 2015 was my favorite year ever. I got to roleplay Beaufort Swan, but I preferred Bella's more eloquent words. Beaufort's lines seemed like a Percy Jackson novel...

Not just Twilight, but the Host as well. There was an older book at my ex boyfriend's house that belonged to his mother that she let me borrow. For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of it, but it was almost 1:1 with the Host, with slight changes to the names of the characters and the alien races. I thought it was strange, so i asked my exes' mom about it, and she said it was a pretty common thing for bigger name authors to buy out books/plots of stories that flopped long before to publish them under their name for modern audiences.

This had me thinking, if someone wanted to claim that JK Rolling stole the harry potter books from another author, all the fans hate her so much, they'd probably just let it happen.
