Unveiling Joan Crawford's Twin Daughters: From Birth to Defense Against Allegations
Cathy and Cynthia "Cindy" Crawford were twin daughters of the renowned Hollywood actress Joan Crawford Their story is not often told and has been purposely ignored.
First off, I had tried to create a Wikipedia page for the twins as I noticed the lack of information about them. This was denied and removed. I used my research and delved into even more. I decided to create this video to showcase their compelling journey, spanning from their earliest days to adulthood. Witness how they bravely defended their beloved mother against the damaging allegations presented by Christina Crawford in her controversial book, "Mommie Dearest." Their story is not often told, and all points made in this video come from opinions, accounts, or allegations, or reflections from those stated.
Follow the twins' captivating narrative as they challenge Christina's claims, firmly asserting that she was not truthful in her portrayal. In 1999, their determination led them to take legal action against Christina, resulting in a resounding victory as the court found her claims to be false. Through their unwavering commitment, Cathy and Cindy shed light on the true essence of their mother, emphasizing her warmth and affection.
Thank you to ‪@TheConcludingChapterofCrawford‬
Your research over the years is extremely valuable. You continuously research and provide factual material about Joan Crawford and anything related. I cannot express my gratitude for what you do.

This is also not an attack on Christina Crawford. No opinions of my own should be reflected in this video. I am NOT professional, but my goal was to create an unbiased video about the lives of Cathy and Cindy Crawford. Anything in this video comes from the sources stated.

This is not a debate! This is about the lives of Cathy and Cindy. This video’s purpose is to educate people on CATHY and CINDY’s side of the story and their amazing lives. I have received many comments saying they didn’t know JC had twins. They are people too. Update: I was definitely not expecting the amount of views usually my videos receive around 1k. I am not a professional and this was all done by me during my free-time. I am not saying what happened or what didn’t; it is simply the twins story. And, yes, I said “Sidney” not “Cindy”. Sorry but I’m not American!

I enjoyed this very much learning more about Cathy and Cindy. I knew Cathy a little in the late 1980s and we had a nice correspondence . I still have several Christmas cards she sent me during these years. And two autographed pictures that "Uncle" Van Johnson gave them. Cathy was a very nice and thoughtful lady and went out of her way to be kind to me.

Just listening to Joan Crawford talk reminds me how distant we’ve become as a people and a culture to real, thoughtful, meaningful and deep expression. It’s amazing listening to her as I came from that time and can remember conversations I had with my own family and friends and we would sound like what Joan Crawford expressed. I miss expression with fore thought and meaning.

At one time in America, you could get a quality education at a public school. Now you can barely get quality education at a college. I had two school books from the 1800s. I believe both were on grammar. It was amazing how grammar was taught in schools back then. I think the level may have been first grade maybe a little older. I as an adult did not understand it much. I should have kept those books and learned the grammar myself because I do not remember learning the things they were teaching in the 1800s being taught when I went to school in the late 60s and early 70s.

True. I'm 34 and have always been a good reader and writer and I think that's helped me to express myself in a more meaningful manner. When I see videos of young people today (teens and early 20's) it's like nails on a chalkboard. The inability to get a sentence out without saying "like" over and over seems to be a difficult task indeed! 😂😂 and to think these people vote! It's the generation that can name every Kardashian/Jenner but couldn't tell you 10 elements from the periodic table. The generation that has the answer to almost everything at their fingertips but will still regurgitate the nonsense they read on twitter or saw in a Tik Tok.

I went to Junior college in Miami with Cathy. The dean actually asked me to look after her…she was quiet and reclusive. When some older locals found out who she was, she was romanced! A man down by our community pool and he perused her relentlessly! She would invite us to his nearby condo with her, and I was freaked out…he was very much older and flashy with his attention for her…nauseating really! We backed off and let her decide! Too gross and pathetic for me! That was Miama!

I had the pleasure of meeting Cathy's son Casey Lalonde at a screening at the Film Forum in New York that he was hosting of Joan's collection of home movies which extended from before the twins were born through later years. He fondly recalled visiting his Grandmother in her Imperial House apartment on the Upper East Side. He is dedicated to presenting an accurate account of Joan.

Actually, Casey is devoted to making money off Joan's name. He does not have Joan's best interests at heart, and was estranged from Cathy for many years over it. He STOLE the home movies from Cathy and has attempted to illegally sell Joan's likeness for his own monetary gain.

Thank you for giving the spotlight to Joan’s twins. There were so many people who stood up for Joan after Christina’s book/film, but society has chosen to go with the very campy revenge fiction, ruining the reputation of Hollywood’s hardest working star. At least it all happened after Joan’s death. Poor Bette Davis was still alive when her daughter cashed in on the same star-bashing notoriety.

At least Christina seems relatively intelligent, but Bette Davis's daughter BD Hymen seems to be koo koo. Telling people her mother Bette Davis was a "witch" and had a pact with the devil and other screwball things that sounded like a shizoid fantasy. BD Hyman even has her own ''ministry" which sounds like she's created her own cult. Since she's not attractive, talented or intelligent like her mother was, I guess she needs something to get attention.

I have read over the years that many actors have disagreed with Christina and her assessment of Joan. They said she was jealous of Joan and the attention she received. As an adult, she behaved like a diva when she entered into the acting arena. Therefore, her acting career never took off. In the 1960s, Christina wanted to meet Elvis. After she arrived at his home she proceeded to make fun of the Memphis Mafia. She would break his cigars in half every-time Joe Esposito would light them. Finally, after not being able to get his attention she threw a drink on him. Elvis (not that I condone violence) instantly grabbed her by the hair, drug her across the coffee table and threw her out.

Honestly, I believe JC was likely a phenomenal mother..! Better to have an intense mother than one who neglects you. Compassion is necessary, but "hard love" lessons are needed at times, too. What constitutes "abusive" is blurry, but I doubt JC was a truly abusive person. She was demanding as a perfectionist, but what a privileged life CC got to live. Who gets to travel so much as a child and have relatively little financial fear.

If Christina had had the book published before Joan's death, would that not have eradicated the speculation of greed and notoriety on Christina's part?? Different times. Though I believe the book is hyped up and exaggerated for dramatic effect. I'm sure being a single mother of that time, Joan had to be both rigid disciplinarian, and balance the love and tenderness for their own sake. Key words, "self reliant", because Joan knew firsthand that life is unkind at times and you have to carry on. Joan taught them survival skills and sadly, the eldest set of children took the brunt of the expectations set out for them. Much like a new parent, it's typical for the firstborn to feel a sense of being put to a duty than being babied the majority of the time and would resent the moments of disengagement while observing the more relaxed attitude towards the younger set of children. Not to downplay any physical or psychological abuse that occurred to whatever degree, but to paint your parent a monster without mentioning this side of them, or the experience of the twins, is a disservice to the strengths of that parent that at least provided and cared for you during the years a parent is legally responsible for you, if all else.

I can only imagine what an interesting life they must have had - both, being a twin, then children of Hollywood royalty. It seems they had a secure, wholesome, childhood - I like that Dad adopted them, too. One impression I got from their story, is that they grew up independant of each other in their grown years... but then I don't know (I'm just assuming twins would be neighbors for life). I think they must've had a great life, I hope so. Thank you for this video, it's nice to see some intimacy instead of headlines. My best.

Now I have to question the movie Mommy Dearest. I’ve watched it a few times and never knew about the twins! I feel cheated.

The movie is also nothing like Christina’s book and she has even denounced the film. For example, the “wire hangers” incident never occurred. 🙂

I always questioned Christina’s story. Thank you for sharing the twins’ side. Many parents were much more strict then than they are now. Children were raised to be self-sufficient and respectful. It wasn’t abuse. I didn’t know the twins existed until years after watching Mommy Dearest

Wow! I always thought that Joan Crawford was Mommie Dearest, it's a shame that we didn't hear about these things beforehand. Seems to me that she was a wonderful mother, nothing worse than being falsely accused! Especially when all of her siblings back their mother up. Thou shalt not bear false witness

This was so well done and so balanced. Thank you so much for your professionalism and for putting out the other side of Christina's sordid tale. I have no respect for the children of Hollywood who expose secrets their parents have tried to keep, or claim they were abused. My list of those I disrespect include Judy Lewis, Joely Fisher, B.D. Davis, and others. It is so good to see respect brought back into the picture. Thank you so much - and bravo!

Judy lewis had every right to expose loretta Young for what she really was,, a self righteous hag who in 1973 funded her son and his friends to make child pornography films, when he was arrested he made a full confession of guilty and could have spent life in prison but Loretta pulled strings, paid $$ and he got a $500 fine!

Im sorry but i absolutely do not believe any of Christina's allegations. This was so beautifully done and yes Joan had a trouble childhood, it doesnt always mean abused children grow up to abuse their own children. I truly believe Joan was a very loving mother, strict in her discpline but whos parents arent when you are young and misbehave. Christopher and Christina were handfuls and Christina was known to lying and i truly believe Christina wanted to BE her mother. And I loved her statements from her book when she was saying her children want to be known as people and not as just the star's children. More parents need to see their children as living people and not just little people who are a part of you.

I remember the twins from the FX mini series "Feud - Betty & Joan". They never said anything bad about their mother. Christina wanted attention. And when her acting career went south, she wrote that book.

I agree. Christina came across as spiteful and attention seeking. If I recall the brother didn’t say anything to bad about Joan either. Maybe that’s why Joan sent her off to private school because she became to hard to handle.
