What sweet expressions on their faces! My boys, 44 years old now, had to be in the same crib, we had 2cribs, they just cried when apart. When too big, put them in own cribs, they would throw themselves against inside of crib, until they were together, then climb into one of the cribs. They are still very close, live 10 miles from each other.

I used to nanny before I had my own kiddos! Some questions to ask include: - How do you handle stressful situations? - How would you handle an emergency? (Give them examples: baby chokes, CPR, if a baby falls down the stairs [of course we wouldn't want this to happen but you want to make sure if an accident were to happen, that they know what to do]) - Are you CPR certified? Also, run a background check and have a contract.

questions for nanny: how many gigs are on your data package? this will likely catch them off guard and help you gauge how much time they spend on their phone... whether it’s on netflix or social media. ask what ages they have cared for in the past. make sure they have experience with infants. ask if they are infant CPR and first aid certified. ask if they have other work commitments. what is their education level? will they be claiming their pay on their taxes? you may think this sounds silly but a lot of nannies don’t. this is something you need to discuss ahead of time. what was the typical routine during the day with your last family? have you ever been in a negative work environment? if so how did you learn from it? have you ever been involved in a child emergency? if so, how did you handle it? what was your longest stay with a family? how have you handled difficult childcare situations in the past? for example inconsolable crying, uncontrollable children, children talking back in public, etc. how flexible is your schedule? would you be available if we needed you to stay late or work early in rare occasions? are you willing to cook/do light housework/take care of pets/etc while the babies are napping? if not, how do you expect to occupy yourself while they are sleeping? what experience do you have with teaching? how do you plan to engage with the babies and keep them active and learning every day instead of sitting them in front of a screen most of the day? what are some fun activities you have done with infants and toddlers to help keep them entertained but also help them learn? i’ve got all kinds of questions! i was a nanny for years. if you were closer i would love to nanny your babes. but since you aren’t, i will settle for helping you find a great nanny who will love and cherish those babes and take great care of them. just remember, court records are public records, traffic citations etc. are public record in most states. you just have to go looking for them. doesn’t hesitate to do that.

What to ask: cpr/first aid training, knowledge of child development and appropriate practices for age groups (I work at a gym child watch and I have been asked by a staff if a 4 month old could crawl yet- this is the kind of knowledge a person who works with kids should have), if they have had experience caring for more than one child at a time (preferably the same age). And what would you do scenarios would also be good questions. What you should disclose: everything you may need her to do on a daily basis. If you expect her to do laundry, dishes, clean the house or even just their room. Tell them everything you want them to do in order to negotiate a fair payment. And make sure she/he is ok with your child rearing practices and will be willing to do it like you would for consistency. Also make sure you give the person the authority with the children, because it is very frustrating when parents don’t want nannies to discipline.

We are currently pregnant with twins and looked at all of our daycare options between an au pair, nanny, and traditional daycare. Our nanny rates were much more expensive than the traditional daycare and the au pair program came out to be just as much as traditional time but a lot more restrictions. So we ultimately ended up choosing daycare for economical and convenience reasons. Things that we asked nanny: What are your hours? Do you charge a fixed rate per month? If on a fixed rate, does she have an hour cap for the week that she works, if so, what is the rate for overtime? Will we be the only family that you are working for? If we are at work and babies need to go to doctor, are you willing to meet us (Drive) to the doc office? Religious beliefs? Have you had to taken care of twins before? Situational interview questions? What other responsibilities does she take care of around the house (e.g. cleaning bottles, washing baby clothes, vacuuming, mopping, etc.)?

I was a nanny and ANY good nanny will be good with you little ones. The thing to make sure is they mesh well with you. The parent- nanny relationship is just as important as the children-nanny relationship. Every child I cared for I loved so much. I was also lucky to have good relationships with their parents. Also, do nice things for your nanny, I never understood why people treat the person caring for their kids everyday well. Good luck, you’ll find one that works well with your family unit. My only other uncommon rec is to meet with recommendations. It’s important to see their face when they answer your questions!

I love you guys! I hate to the “that person” but I noticed when you were wearing Bear, his knees were not up. You really want their legs to form an M shape. It makes a more secure Butt seat and is better for their hips. He may also like it more that way. Again, I don’t mean to criticize and I hope it doesn’t come off that way! You guys are awesome and you are doing great!!
@sallycroft21916 жыл бұрын
I would have a few scenarios written up and ask them in an interview how they would handle situations. Also, when you narrowed it down to a couple of nannies, see if you make short visits to reference , rather than over the phone. You get a much better sense of the genuine response of references and if they are legit references. Trust your gut if there is any hesitation. Hope this is helpful. One of the most importance decisions you will have to make for your babies.

Barb is a hoot and becoming quite comfortable as part of a vlog family! I love it! Just a thought maybe Lyndle is getting to many naps and that is why they are so short?!? My third baby is one week older then your twins and sleeps 12 hours at night with one feed around 5 am. She takes a long morning nap long afternoon nap about 2 hours each and then one evening nap only about an hour. You do what works for you but maybe she's ready for a schedule change! I have fallowed BabyWise with all 3 kids with great success. You guys are awesome parents I have been watching your vlogs for almost a year from when you found out you were having twins, I was just a head of you the whole pregnancy, pregnant with my little girl! Questions for potential Nanny. How would you handle discipline at different stages? Give the Nanny some example of a situation. Ex: 18 Mo. old Lyndle hits her brother. 3 yr old Bear takes a toy away from his sister. Also, give her a question about how to handle a common twin problem. Where there is a situation where both kids need her at the same time. Be specific and creative...

haha. You will figure the discipline out. You will be great confident and feeling like the SuperNanny herself. Then, of course, they will get older and you will have to figure it out all over again ; ) Older kids and preteens are no joke, lol I don't have twins mine are 2 yrs minus a day apart and they often needed me at the same time. It's kind of like Triage ; )

Hi guys mom of three little ones here. Quick question does Lyndle have a sound machine in your bedroom during naps? That could be one issue. My six month old has to have hers on in whatever room I have her napping in and it helps tremendously. I don’t have a dog but I have a three Y.O. And a seven Y.O. too and they usually don’t wake her up if it’s going. But forty-five min naps were the norm for my daughter at three months. As per the Nanny situation my utmost important question would be in the situation the babies can’t be consoled what is her or his go to move? Even experienced care takers can struggle when babies are inconsolable. They really are so precious and I love Lyndle’s little holler it’s too cute.

Looking for a Nanny.. 1. Make sure that they have/are CPR and first aid trained. 2. experience 3. What their religious beliefs are 4. What they would consider educational activities for kids 5. What they like to do for fun 6. If they read, what type of material (The last 5 are from my hubby who works in the medical field.) My hubby was/is very over protective of our kids. I swear he would still cut their grapes in half if he could get away with it..lol Enjoy..

I believe asking about religious beliefs is actually illegal.
@PrettyLittleWhisperss6 жыл бұрын
Legally employers can't ask about personal beliefs. There is a whole line of questions employers can't ask. A nanny's personal beliefs (religious or political) shouldn't ever interfere with the care of a child. An employer asking those questions and choosing not to hire biased on the answers is discrimination and in the USA that's illegal. You can however tell your nanny your beliefs and state what you expect of them, e.g. make sure children pray before bed, say prayers before meals, teach them about bible stories, listen to religious music, etc. And thats not illegal at all.
