I think that with the ending the bird is caged (you see it caged a couple of times when they are in "normal" characters) but free when they are being themselves (ie. Maniacs).

(This is a long one, and yes 8 days late) Theorizing is a headache but also a fun STAY exercise. It's a matter of persuasion, justifying the story the way you've put together the details-as well as how much references you can catch. Coz the amount of references in their trailer is overwhelming, from DC Joker and Harley to Alice and the Wonderland to Inception (elevators of consciousness) to Death Note Ryuk to the deadly seven sins. -so much details that I've also learned from fellow stays In my case, the trailer is a retrospective concept of confronting your socially deviant consciousness (ie your deadly sins) and deciding whether to unlock yourself from your hesitation or as in Maniac, "cosplay" or "cage". Felix broke the lock when Hyunjin pushed him-hence Felix succumbed. And has become true to himself as well as others. (So many details overlooked, its gonna need a whole dissertation) And in Maniac, the MV transliterate the lyrics actually. They're visualizing both your inner world and the "normal" societal standard (cafe uniforms in the cafe). Your train of thought and the invisible threads that puppeteers you. The ghosts of who you are and the cosplay you do to "fit in". As well as the message that we are all caged into these standards despite everyone being similarly deviant in our own way- the bird tweeting for freedom as well as the drill that unscrews the bolts of both our mindset and the cage that represents that. There are numerous ways to describe/dissect Maniac, and that's how I understood and embrace it (while acknowledging the numerous details i missed) Tl;dr: the message is "STAY ODDINARY"-Bang Chan

Thank you for your reaction. Sorry that I can't explain the storyline better than you even I am a stay hehehe... And it's definitely ok not to like all of their songs.. Every stays have their favourite songs and it's usually different from one to another and it's the beauty of being stays. We have various menu to choose..

I dont why fans keeping pushing theories and storyline over the groups nowadays. Like how SKZ's recents mvs connect to each other, sonically, conceptually, lyrically and etc? Non sense.

but skz does have storylines in their concepts and mvs. if you can watch their trailers and the mvs of their songs they're connected, you can try to watch their prequel of go live, kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6GpfYJpnJt2ick&ab_channel=JYPEntertainment , which says that all mvs are cohesive and connected. lyrically? maybe yes, but that's up to fans and their creative juices right? you can't just call that nonsense cuz everyone has different perspectives on things

I don’t know about sonically but i know that they try to have a storyline within their title track m/v’s which skz themselves have said is there. They may not have an obvious storyline, but they leave it up to fans to come up with theories and I think it makes it so much more fun.
