The funny thing about Freddie Mercury you would never realise, is that he was painfully shy off stage and had a bit of a stutter and lisp when he spoke. But when he went on stage he was able to throw all that off and come alive! He still was a very humble guy. He loved opera, which I guess is the style of music he was singing in if you think about it! In this documentary I saw about his life, he said the greatest moment of his artistic life was meeting his favourite opera singer lady (forgot her name but you can look it up) and doing a duet with her. He was so thrilled! Freddie Mercury was so inventive and creative, he went places and did things with music no one had ever done before.

He was a legend whilst he was alive, He's practically worshipped as a God now, and rightly so, Queen as a whole set the standard for musical performances, But Freddie just made what seemed impossible possible and no one has been able to match his charisma, perfection, performance ability in music since, and recently it was noted that he once went from a C1 low note to a C6 in a song, pretty much impossible by anyone else, not even soprano's can match that vocal range. Also if you go to Zanzibar, The island is practically a shrine to Freddie, You have the restaurants, schools, & other public buildings & spaces all named after him . The world lost the most important person in modern musical history in 1991, and I'm glad to say that even though I was young, I was here when he was still with us, and I miss him so much, of our generation and that before me of my parents it still breaks our hearts as does it most the world, that he passed away when he did, far too young, as well so many tens of thousands if not millions died of the same cause, its horrible. Love you Freddie

So with "The Show Must Go On", Freddie actually sang it in about 3 takes, but the bit about him slamming a good deal of vodka before singing (to help numb his throat, apparently) is true. Legend is that Brian May was concerned about whether Freddie would be capable of singing it, since Brian had written it, Freddie had replied, "I'll fucking do it, darling!" tossed back quite a lot of chilled Stoli, and then stepped into the studio and killed it, with a couple of extra takes for perfection's sake. Freddie Mercury’s talent is certainly out of this world. I remember being in awe of his voice and performances as a child when I watched him on tv in the ‘70s and have been a fan ever since. There was usually no background dancers, no special effects, no splashy light shows - it was simply his raw talent that shined. He was hypnotizing to watch/listen to...still is. I personally think that of all bands that have existed, he’s one of the very best frontman/lead vocalists in history. I find it amusing/funny that the Queen classics are being resurrected (again) and appreciated by the young generation again...seeing you youngins discover these popular classics for the first time. It proves that his music/performances are timeless. ...and no, I am not mad that you didn’t know that Queen is the band’s name and not the lead singer. 😉

Listening to Queen is a multifaceted experience. You listen to the music. Then the lyrics. Then you see the performance. There is so much to unpack!

Tim & Fred: You guys are a breath of fresh air: No prejudice, intelligent, thoughtful and open to all genres of music. I was in my teens when these songs first came out and we were blown away!! Honored to see Queen live in NYC when I was young! Keep up the great work and stay grounded!!!

All of Queen are incredibly talented. They’re the only band ever where every member has written a No.1 hit single. Brian wrote We will rock you, Roger wrote Radio Ga Ga, John Deacon wrote Another one bites the dust and Freddie wrote quite a lot(Killer Queen, We are the champions, Bohemian Rhapsody).
@jadespaul61594 жыл бұрын
@@Keston1302 i am aware of all that, the guy in the video seemed to think freddie was a solo artist so had to explain its a whole band of talented men!

It is so cool that you listen and can be objective and appreciate "old" music. We couldn't help but love Freddie Mercury, there was no doubt he was amazing Imagine how completely devastated we were when he died. Such a great loss to us all! You rock kid, you alright! Respect!
