I lived a few minutes walk from where Amy lived in Camden Sq. Day after she died I went to leave some flowers outside her house. There were several hundred other fans outside singing her songs, smoking weed, drinking vodka etc. Then her neighbour opened an upstairs window, put a speaker on the ledge and played this song really loud. The sound of the wailing , screaming, crying will stay with me forever. It was terribly sad but beautiful too. How we loved the Queen of Camden. x

Black represents her depression. When her boyfriend went back to his ex she went back to black(depression, drugs, alcoholism). The funeral is her own. Apparently filming this brought out her anxiety on set because she knew she was self destructive and this could and did become her final outcome.
@EchoRider5154 жыл бұрын
@Kathrin Kleinknecht she did not get into hard drugs UNTIL Blake. HE introduced her to them!
@farrahlynne71214 жыл бұрын
Yeah, she used the word “black” frequently to reference her mood And depression and mental and emotional pain. I guess for her going to “black” was a place within herself. This is about heartbreak. He goes back to her (the other woman) and so she goes back to black, as in back to the depression and misery and her old ways. In real life she struggled with severe depression alcoholism and addiction and ultimately she lost her life to the battle at age 27. There’s an interview where she admits that she is self destructive by nature and it will probably be her demise. I actually cried when I saw on the news the day they found she had passed away, maybe bc of the pain I know that must’ve been in & she talked Of in interviews as well as her songs and you can hear it in her voice and songs & the fact she died so young like many other icons just hit me hard. Maybe bc I could relate to some of the things she dealt with too. She was so beautiful and unique. An amazing talent style & voice that still gives you chills when you listen to her music. Hey, have you thought about going to school to be a producer, sound engineer? I think you'd be great. I used to work for RCA Records and managed a recording studio in NYC. Your love for music is what is required. Check out schools for Audio Engineering. You got it bro.

So I was in this record store (remember those?) and they were playing this background music. And most of the time I don't listen to it, but this voice captivated me, enthralled me, enraptured me.... So I went up to the front and asked who was playing. Amy Winehouse was the name and the only CD they had left was the one playing. "Give it to a brother," without skipping a beat! I must have listened to that joint over and over and over again. And then I decided I best go home before the fam started to wonder where ol' boy was at.... That was only the second time in my 62 years where I have bought music off the fly like that -- RIP AMY! You were the Truth, child!

She had the ability to speak truth and put words to emotions. Like too many others, taken too soon. RIP. Out of curiosity, who was the other record/artist?
@creaminthecoffee2934 жыл бұрын
@@DD-bj5yp What a great follow-up question! You do know you killed my last remaining brain cell trying to recall this! But for real, for real, the other album that I bought just because of the vibe it was giving out was the CD by Eminem that had the cut, "The Monster" on it. Now I'm 64, ya feel me? Yes, I knew who M is and had first heard his music back in like 1999/2000, but blew him off as not relevant for me. WRONG! I can now appreciate that M is the GOAT, if for no other reason than The Monster which really spoke to me. So I have my grandchildren tripping when they come through the door and hear me listening to the lastest banger from him, Billy Eilish! Or maybe SnoThaProject! So the dark side of Amy Winehouse still really touches me!
@DD-bj5yp4 жыл бұрын
CreamintheCoffee Sorry. But at least you know someone actually cares about how awesome the experience was to you. 😀. Amy was magic sand to me and I remember how and where I was the first time I heard the album. Crazy how powerful music. And I’m an old head too, hehe. Good stuff is good stuff.

Every time I hear the powerful and moving voice of Amy Winehouse, I am overcome with the sadness of the life she seemed unable to save. Many others have done the same thing but the reason Amy is different for me is because you could almost write her ending long before it happened so we watched helplessly as it played out in agonizingly slow motion through her songs with all the pain so raw and apparent until it all ended just the way we knew it would.
