Saw them in 84 opening for Iron Maiden. It was for the Stay Hungry tour so we didn't really expect much, we only really knew We're Not Gonna Take It and thought it was kind of cawk rock, We walked out fans after that night. They're live presence was electrifying and they put on an amazing show that absolutely blew us away. They gave Maiden a run for their money on that tour.

But they didn't stay together for 48 years. The band broke up in 1987, and the classic line up didn't reunite until 2003. Until that point the band members were barely speaking to each other and couldn't stand being in the same room together. Mark down right hated Dee.

but they did not remain together for all 48 years. the band dissolved in '87 and only returned as a band 16 years later, LOL! I lived on Long Island and saw Twisted Sister play in a lot of the clubs on LI in their beginnings. I lived in Port Jefferson and saw them play at The Mad Hatter in Stony Brook many times. They were amazing in the clubs, their stage show was absolutely amazing, Dee always knew how to work a crowd, and God help you if you were up in front of the stage and didn’t move, cheer, dance and scream, Dee would single you out and do his best to embarrass you in front of everyone, lol. I saw these guys at the infamous 1979 Adventure Land concert on LI, Adventure Land was a small amusement park on the side of Route 110, when I say small it was just a tiny kiddie amusement park, they never expected 23,000 Twisted Sister fans to show up, especially since TS was an unsigned band, they had to shut down Route 110 because there were so many people there, what a show, me and my friends were right up front on the left hand side of the stage. I think this was pretty much the play list we saw, stage show was excellent, including their famous Death To Disco segment where they’d bust up a few Saturday Night Fever albums while everyone chanted Disco Sucks in the audience, what a great show. I read somewhere Dee asked the owners of Adventure Land if Sister could come back and do a 25th anniversary concert there, Adventure Land said, “No thank you, we’re still cleaning up from the last one”, lol. Great memories. Stay Cool 😎 and… \m/ Stay Metal \m/

THIS is how their albums should have been released - as live performances. The difference between this band live, raw, and powerful and the overproduced studio stuff is night and day. If you’ve only heard their album releases go back and listen to the live stuff. My personal favorite is the “Live At Detroit” performances on WLIR (not just because I was there). These guys, live in the bars, were fucking amazing. PS: Disco STILL sucks. Always did, always will.
@smokesletsgo23744 жыл бұрын
Overproduced? I always thought their studio recordings sounded weak and tinny. Almost like really poorly recorded demos. But their live performances were amazing. When I listen to the live performances, I say they're one of the most underrated rock bands ever

Wreckerboy . . I think you would really like the rerelease of Stay Hungry entitled " Still Hungry " . Dee Snider still holds a grudge to this day against producer Tom Werman for his somewhat weak , thin and polished production . " Still Hungry " though sounding more like a hard rock LP didn't sell many units as the mega success ( 6 million ? ) of the original release which had run it's course by the time the new mix was released. But look it up and give it a listen as well as Tom Werman interviews on the " full in bloom " segments on here . There is another live performance on here as well from a show which you'd will enjoy . Really awesome! Seen them Sept 6th 1983 in Brussels, Vorst Nationaal. Anvil, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake! I was just 18y. What a experience was that! Still has some compact camera(full-frame 😉) of that show.

same here I was 7, turned 8 in September of 1984 and heard it s well and I wanna rock. I was a fan. At that time I was also listening to Van Halen and def leppard by then as well and into the genre around that time. Then also heard some song from first 2 albums thinking they got overlooked. I also wished the released songs from club daze on actual albums then they did after they broke up as compilations . I ws born and raised in NE Ohio still there

I never really listened to any twisted sister before. Always dismissed them as a shotty glam rock band. This live performance though is fucking killer. Im pleasantly surprised. Happy I clicked on this

For as long as I can remember seeing a band live versus the record made all the difference, I could never give my opinion until seeing the live show.

Back in the day lots of metalheads were dismissing them as 'hair/poser metal', just because of the clothing and makeup. In reality these guys were so heavy and full of energy that you couldn't get more metal than that.

Thanks for the great full live shows!!! So appreciated. I'm saving all these for my grandsons all under 4yrs old. They love the shows, but are begging me to see twisted sister meets scobby doo.... they keep asking me to see cartoons of twisted sister. They're on me bad!!! Got kiss with scobby doo, they went WILD, then turned to me where's TS!!!!!! They love the TS comics I have, but they are demanding TS cartoons. Has ANYONE out there seen any TS cartoons?? Did they make any?? I've searched Amazon, record stores, head shops, in my search in vain??? Thanks for the shows guys. Love Kris IL ps if they're non exsistant, PLEASE make some. I don't even think TS knows how much little children under 5 are hardcore TS fans. Guys there's a whole army of them out here!!!! FYI..... and they want to see you in cartoons!!!! Thanks again they're jamming out to this show now and loving it as much as I do.

LOL I'm dead SERIOUS, they weren't on THE MUPPET SHOW, should have been, got a couple cartoon clips from twisted Christmas, myself if like to see kiss meets TS but like TS and kiss, old Scooby stands the test of time. It's on boomerang......
