Eclipse was a name that the fans came up with. I’m glad steel wool used the name. Also, Eclipses voice was originally supposed to be Bonnie’s voice if you didn’t know. Your theory is very interesting, but if Eclipse is the bad guy pretending to be good, why would sun want to be rebooted and thank Cassie when Eclipse takes her out of the daycare? There's one problem with that: if he is evil, why wasn't Sun afraid of him like Moon? He seemed to even want to bring him back. And why didn't Moon just let Cassie reboot her? If Moon is under the Mimic's control, why does he wanna kill Cassie instead of letting her continue what she was doing like you said Eclipse did?

Two tidbits of interesting information/observations about the Daycare Attendants. One there are unused lines talking about "an animatronic retrieval unit which was fatal to humans if accidentally snatched"; I've seen lots of people theorizing that's Moon, and that's why he drags Freddy off to parts and service. Secondly, another reason for the torn apart endoskeletons in the ruined Daycare Attendant's room is, he's missing his original right leg and may have used scraps from the endos to fix himself.

i feel like the eclipse we see in the arcade machine is 1 side of eclipse. an eclipse that gets blocked out by the moon making an evil eclipse so the eclipse we see in ruin is the main eclipse the one who blocks out the moon

what if the daycare attendant was destroying endos because they wanted to repair themselves on their own? Here I'm talking only about the endos, not about Freddy's kidnapping or anything else. only the broken endos. Sun seems to know they need to be fixed, and says specifically "we need to be whole". now, as the video said he's probably referring to Eclipse, the personality that takes pieces of the two and puts them together to make something complete and independent. what if Moon also wanted so, but he just didn't know how to do so? What if this need to be complete was taken literally? he might have tried to use pieces of endos to make himself "whole", but failed and left the pieces scattered around the jungle gym. why there? because it looked more tidy like that. we need to remember that despite Moon being more aggressive and everything, he still doesn't like mess as much as Sun does. "Then why didn't he try to fix the daycare?". but what if he was doing so? through all the destruction we find things that are sort of in order, like the toys sitting around the small tables and such. but because Moon was the one mainly in control and trying to be "whole", as I said before, he was also taking to pieces endos and trying to repair himself, therefore he didn't spen the whole time cleaning up. "why did he attack Cassie?". he might have wanted to try repairing himself using her as parts, since the endos weren't working. another thing: scrolling down the comments I saw a few people commenting how also Eclipse might have two sides. we might say one Eclipse is when the moon covers the sun and the other is when they're on opposite sides. this also might be an interesting take: we have to take into consideration that Sun made Cassie reboot Moon, but not Sun (sort of). If you try to get close with the mask on, while Sun is visible, he will yell at you to reboot Moon. This might mean that someone else might come out if you reboot Sun, like- for example- the Eclipse we see in the Balloon Boy game. If we see the Eclipse of the Balloon Boy game as the "evil" one and the Eclipse we see in Ruined as the "good" one, we can suppose that when one of the sides gets rebooted becomes "weaker" and goes to fill up the holes the other side has. see how we reboot Moon, and the Eclipse we see is more like gentle and kind but without the crippling anxiety and the huge amount of energy Sun has. Maybe the Eclipse we can see when rebooting Sun is more like Moon, but with Sun's protective habits towards children (or with his energy and attitude). This might also be a reason why he sent Cassie out of the daycare: there wasn't Sun's need to protect the children at all costs, therefore he just sent her away because he had to make order in the daycare. I'm not the greatest of nerds and I might have missed something that makes my whole rambling completely sensless, so if you gotta add something do it- i'd love to know what i missed.

the way I view it is that when moon is in front, it doesn't necessarily mean the evil side will rise but rather in that dark and evil side. there is a glint of gentleness and caring. and the opposite goes if sun's image is in front rather than moon.

I think the only reason Mimic wants to to repair the daycare attendant is because well he needs a way out and if Cassie dies by Moon, how will Mimic escape also I think Eclipse is just completely nice only reason being is because the Eclipse we see in the arcade is a Total Eclipse and well the arcade machines have a connection to the glitchtrap virus/mimic original code Edit: I also think since Eclipse was deactivated for so long his ai is able to pick up that the place is destroyed but can detect danger in the daycare just like how Helpi can’t detect that the pizzaplex is destroyed

I haven't seen anyone discussing it, but in the Fazerblast from HW2 there's a literal eclipsed moon on the nightsky. And it's one of few games that happen outside, being the other one [and only one as far as I know] the carrousel one with Moon.

Really enjoy this theory and honestly believe there is some truth behind it! I think Sun isn't a villain, obviously, but Moon is. Whether or not he is because he's evil is debatable, I think he's just hard programmed to always BE the villain - and keeps up that appearance. But that makes him so easy for Vanessa to manipulate, she could be asking him to do things and convincing him it's all just another theatre show, etc. Eclipse is a bit unsettling, because sure, the Sun feels more comfortable not having to fight to be the dominant personality, it does mean Moon has almost "won." Eclipse could be like a third personality rather than the two, but still, why would the mimic want him reset? And the purple! Yes, evil colour theory!!! I still adore Sun though, you can't change my mind 😭❤️
