selling chrome does nothing beneficial for the market. the open sources, firefox all die. They literally keep their competition afloat. The general public just gets worse browser experiences and less options.

I am a web developer. The thought of Google having to sell chrome honestly scares me. The fragmentation will be bad for everybody. Chromium has been a blessing, giving us developers a stable target to develop for. Why would Google possibly care to continue to develop chromium without chrome? And what about V8 JS engine? Node is built on V8. Again, what reason would Google have to continue supporting these massively important, free and open source projects without chrome? This is an insanely bad idea, clearly proposed by people who have no idea what they’re doing

A real punishment would be for Google to relinquish Android.

I would think this would be easy with all the chrome based options via chromium just make it a non profit like firefox hell hand it over to them if they'll take it

short answer is, google should be broken up. especially chrome and youtube should become its own entity.
