80% of players are in the metal ranks (plat and below) so this tier list seems fairly accurate overall. Some characters like Hog, Moira, Ana and Soldier are placed a bit higher than would be expected, but it makes sense when you consider that they’re either notoriously difficult to deal with for low rank players, or generally easier characters to play.

@@davidnewhart2533 You’re bad as well. “Bad” is just relative. People are called bad by (sometimes) better players in every rank. Compared to a top 10 player, a top 300-400 player or GM is really bad. Compared to a bronze player, a gold player is good.

I suspect the chat rankings are heavily influenced by seeing the rankings given yesterday, and a little less from reporting what they see in their own games. Like for example, there's NO WAY that most people are seeing that big a jump in Wreckingball effectiveness compared to every other season since OW2 launched. But they heard higher ranked players calling him S tier recently and so they have mentally accepted it as true.

I built a tierlist based off the average vote, rather than the single highest vote to get a more bell-curvey aggregate. Not a ton different but a couple notable differences: Zen, Soj, Tracer are the only S-tier heroes (although Lucio, D.va, Soldier and Moira were all close) No one actually got shunted down to D-tier, though Junk, Rein and Mauga were all within .5 based off the weighting I was using so they very easily could fall into there with a different interpretation of the data. Ball falls all the way to B tier averaging the masses. Hanzo rises to meet him in B. Doom falls to C. Mei and Reaper fall to B.

A more even scale might be: S = 4.2 - 5 A = 3.4 - 4.19 B = 2.6 - 3.39 C = 1.8 - 2.59 D = 1 - 1.79 Which drops Mauga into D by his lonesome, bumps Mei/Ball/Reaper to A, and Lucio/dva/soldier/moira to S

The ball poll is hilarious to me as someone who plays a lot of ball. To think he's not extremely powerful right now is crazy. He hits more shots and has more health. You could already shoot him easily so he doesn't take more damage than normal. He can now regen his own health on top of shield regen so you dont have to farm health packs as much. That's more up time. The new passive majorly benefits heros that already didnt ask for much healing

To be fair she is pretty bad, and it is not even a pylon. Going into s9 she lost a lot of her killing power.When everyone is enjoying generous projectile sizes and shooting left and right, You HAVE to be scoring headshots with a slow primary. Numbers are good but in reality everyone just escapes her. Illari needs a fix.

Junk is the worst dps if not the worst hero at the gamt atm. He cannot apply the dps passive like other dps and the only way you can use him effectively now is by spamming because you cannot easely secure kill by yourself wich killed flyrat and flankingrat wich was 2 big thing that junk could do

It’s because his tier list is more geared towards the top players who play with more teamwork and coordination. This is more towards silver/ Gold which is where the most amount of players are.

Ground pound, get armor, grapple away, that’s how you play ball this season, you don’t need to be doing all the coordination with tracer, Lucio, zen and assassinate people, as long as u cause disruption, ball can be viable this season.

Flats was saying something along the lines of playing Winston more like poke than dive. Usually only dive for safe picks, and just wait for ult. What I’ve been doing is just to try to take high ground and annoy the enemy back line. Using my bubble to help out teammates primarily. Keep in mind I’m only gold 3.

Jump between their tank and backlines, use shield, do some damage while dancing between shield, your shield will prevent their tank from getting heal so your team will focus him, if you are in danger jump back to safety. Rinse and repeat. Manage your cooldowns.

Jump on an enemy with preferably little mobility, put the barrier on them so they don't get healed. I am by no means a good Winston but that's how I would do it.

I play Hammond religiously and I feel like everyone think he's S-Tier because of the going Zen+Ball meta. He's harder to kill and the larger bullets help, but just because a combo is meta doesn't necessarily mean that the character theirself is meta. I feel like Zen paired with any Dive or Poke Tank would yield similar results. Though, I'm just a disgusting casual who peaked Gold, so...

if junkrat had a bigger mag or bigger aoe dmg, he would be just as good as pharah. mauga seriously needs a small dmg buff for him to even be good. rien is in d, he needs a health buff, sheild buff and thats it, but instead, he got nerfed on those two and made him useless unless a healer is on his azz every engagement

it's very easy for metal rank to look up top leaderboard or saw other streamer's tier list to assume the best heroes in the top elo. For example, in metal rank, I see 90% of the time there's gonna be a Soldier (so it's correct), but I see only about 20% sojourn in my game, but Soldier and Sojourn being put in the same tier. I hardly ever see echo in metal rank, how is she B. I see Genji almost everywhere, he should be among the top. Metal rank still regularly asked Widow to switch off despite the hitbox buff, how is she A. Just the fact that they put Winston on A and Hammond on S yet they are both among the least picked tanks in metal rank; this tells me how low elo is being affect by stats outside of their own experiences.

The thing that makes him intimidating is his crazy TaB which means he can prolly hook you at least twice until he dies. Now, with the DPS passive, if your DPS just focus fire him and you join in too headshotting him (which should be easy considering his hitboxes are fucking massive) he just gets deleted. Simply avoid Hog like the plague until one of his supports falls and your DPS shoot him, then you can watch him evaporate. Bro went from a menace to my little plaything lmao

Ngl, I think this tier list is biased, either based on your previous lists or influenced by other streamers' lists. Considering the rank range in your chat, and assuming most are in the metal ranks, it seems unlikely that some heroes would be in the S or A tier. For example, as a metal rank player, I rarely see a Zen performing well enough to justify an S tier. The same goes for Tracer, and so on. I understand that in high rank games these heroes may perform exceptionally well, but it feels a bit awkward considering we're talking about an average opinion.

I guarantee chat wouldn't have voted s tier for ball if streamers didn't already say so. I'm in gold-plat and in 40 games have only seen 2 or 3 balls. There's no way all these gold and silver and bronze have had enough instances of against wrecking ball to see that he dominates when plaited correctly (especially because in their tasks he doesn't get paid correctly)

Skill is not a good argument for why a character is op or not. Tracer is the best dps in the game right now.

i cannot agree, what defines if a character is op or not is how much value you can get from him relative to how hard he is to play. For example: moira is OP right now because she requires very little skill to get pretty good value right now. On the other other hand, a character like doomfist will not be considered op because a lot of people dont have the mechanical skill to play him. Yet a good doomfist will absolutely roll you way more then a moira ever will. Now if we put tracer in the same situation as doomfist, for some reason everyone thinks or says she is op even tho she's in the same situation in terms of difficulty to play. If this thumbnail is to be believed Brig is not B tier. She's borderline pointless; No buffs, shield is pointless, damage is the worst in the game Healing, which also affects her survivability also pointless, at the moment you're better doing damage than trying to heal anything. Lucio has a better boop. Anything she was strong against before now laughs at her, 50 health was not anywhere near enough to compensate for the indirect nerfs. You can hit her from anywhere, everything might as well go through the shield because of how much more damage she takes and how easy projectiles just hit round it. Feels useless unless everyone on the opposition isn't playing one of the very few not-broken heroes.

Any other action that isn't just damaging something is just ineffective. I like that other supports, because healing isnt sustainable now, you need to be more offensive; that's just not really a consistently available option for Brig. She's even more limited in options than ever.
