The only realistic way to prevent kids from viewing these streams is to require people to verify their age with a driver’s license or State ID, but twitch would never do that because that would mean they wouldn’t make as much money.

twitch really dug themselves into a hole. they unfairly distributed punishment so much to their actual content creators (i.e. gamers, just chatters, etc.) that a good chunk moved to other platforms and essentially left twitch with a bunch of cam girls being the main "creators" on their site. so their only choice was to just adapt the website for the current primary money makers. because had they actually cracked down on the nudity, then those cam girls that bring in millions per month for twitch would've moved on just like everyone else.
