These ladies have quickly become one of my top 5 bands. The guitarist on Stage Left is also a virtuosic pianist which you can hear in their performance of Swan Song from the same show. She does a prelude of a Chopin etude before the song starts and then returns to the piano in the song.

Tomorrow is Midori's birthday and now I am asking them to, at least, announce a date for re-issue on Midori's birthday, a good 'present' to Midori too, I think. How can we "celebrate" the release of a CD that WE CANNOT BUY? btw, that Japanese saying makes alot of sense to me, as most things/idea I hear from Japan, but most of what I hear/read from Japan is from LOVEBITES !

thank you for your expertly analysis of asamis voice. I am glad you discovered them and like them. the band is wearing white, because the wanted to "deny expectations of how a metalband has to look like", also to show that they are sophisticated women and last but not least to be better visible, because they are so tiny. lovebites won metal hammers best newcomer award in 2018 and were the first all female metal band to play wacken. their musician skills are so awesome and they manage to hit hard and brutal, but also stay poised, femine, graceful at the same time. these five women have much more to offer than just power metal. originally inspired by iron maiden (doesn´t asami sent some bruce vibes?), judas priest, helloween and european metal from the eighties and nineties, they have developed their own style. singer asami has a education as a balletdancer, later jazzdance too and comes from R&B (when she joined lovebites in 2016 she knew nothing about metal). and now I am addicted to her voice. also I admire, that she sings in english, must be difficult to. she is the main texter of the band and the lyrics are mainly uplifting and positive. dark haired guitarist miyako is pianoplayer on concert pro level. as a prelude to their "swan song" she plays chopins "revolutionary etude". she is the main composer and you can find influences of beethoven, strawinsky and other classical music in their songs. and they are fit, they walked offstage after this 110 min powerride concert as if they just came from a walk in the park. this band is so impressive and special.

Vocalist Asami is a petite 4'10" which, to me, makes her vocals even more impressive as her slender body is her instrument. I am amazed at her ability, her range, projection, power, vibrato and sustain. A wonderful blend with Metal, coming from R&B/Soul, deliberately bringing a different sound and presentation to Metal including her more than decade of experience in ballet & jazz dance, enhancing her athleticism. Little drummer Haruna is 4'9" of relentless power and precision, locked with bassist Miho who formed LOVEBITES after collaborating in historic all-women Metal band "Destrose" (Destroy+Rose, continuing the 'contradictory' themes with Love+Bites). All members are about 30 years of age and veterans of other Metal bands except Asami. Midori began piano age 2, later organ and switched to guitar at age 20, graduating from Musicians Institute after pursuing medical education/pharmacist license and performing in Gekijo Metalicche (some videos on u2b) until invited by Miho & Haruna. Her birthday is this Friday, May 28th! She is a melodic shredder, fluidly transitioning through many techniques with a flowing melodic phrase, influenced by Kiko Loureiro (Angra/Megadeth). Miyako, the tallest at 5'2", a pianist from age 3, has included those classical talents and interests in her performance and compositions, beginning guitar at 18 and developing those skills rapidly with 'tapping' being a major part of her fret-board play with soulful bends influenced by Gary Moore. Miho's furious finger-play, head-banging and silent-singalong reveals her as leader/founder and a primary composer and lyricist of their thrash and some hard-rock-tinged Metal influenced by Iron Maiden's Steve Harris. As a drummer myself I am mesmerized by Haruna's fills, accents, breaks, breakdowns and transitions, while laying a foundation (with Miho) of precision dbl-kick work that endures throughout hour&45min marathon exhibitions of tasteful, song-oriented onslaught. Influenced by Helloween's (late) Ingo Schwichtenberg and Uli Kusch. LOVEBITES are truly "Five of a Kind" and we are experiencing what can happen "When Destines Align". All but a few songs include individual guitar solos followed by the harmony-duet. Although Miho and Haruna are the founders and musical foundation, they rarely are 'featured', although we are fortunate that the LIVE performance production visuals allow for clear, often full band and well-lit views of all members. I will put a link to a photo of Asami standing with Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, who's song "Love Bites (So Do I!) was her 'audition' song for LOVEBITES and origin of the band's name, to give you a perspective on how petite Asami truly is. This is a good quality reaction video, you are one of those people who likes Asami's voice (lead singer) at first hearing. She came from R&B, Jazz and Gospel singers before joining Lovebites. There are some youtubers/people who don't like this Lead Singer because of her singing style which they think is not suitable for metal / power metal. But you are not bro, you explain in detail and I like it. If you want to hear Asami's voice abilities, I recommend their songs such as: Edge Of The World and Epilogue. btw their album was mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussila, who have worked with acts like Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Stratovarius. *sorry my poor english

Well Asami at 5' is a dynamo, as an ex-ballerina and from a R & B/Jazz/Soul background she never sang metal before joining this band. She is a great front person, a real Napoleon on stage commanding the crowd and ruling the stage. They are all petite thus the high heels (they play 2 hours like this in them) and white dresses with risers so they can be seen on stage. They turn into Metal Goddesses once they start playing. Power, Speed, Thrash, Prog, Ballad and classical piano are their weapons of choice and they have incorporated all the glory of 80's metal and mixed it with their own sound and added some of the masters for good measure. Gnarly is a great term for them. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Nice analysis of Asami's technique. Most of us focus on the instruments, so it's good to get that perspective. Some background: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuke”); they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for just shy of 5 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. This is one of their frequent "starter" songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist, and some of their songs feature her on the piano. Several things. FIRST: Great reaction video dude. I like how you give your honest opinion based upon the music and vocals, and consequently the techniques the musicians and vocalist are using. In my opinion Lovebites takes the absolute BEST of the Metal bands from the 80's to mid-90's (such as Slayer, Helloween, Armored Saint, Metal Church, Megadeth, Testament, Metallica, and many others, including just a hint of Bolt Thrower) and combine them together, add their own style into the mix, and produce a sound that is uniquely their own. In my opinion Lovebites not only sets the bar as to what Heavy Metal should sound like, but Lovebites ARE the bar. That being said however, that brings me to my next point: just what in the Nine Hells and the Abyss is this 'Power Metal' thing? By that I mean that I'm a Metal-er (the first two Metal songs I ever heard were Haunting The Chapel by Slayer and Ride The Lightning by Metallica in the mid-80's when I was in Junior High), and as any true Metal-er knows there have always been ONLY 6 true subcategories of the genre of Heavy Metal: 1 - Heavy Metal; 2 - Punk Metal; 3 - Speed Metal; 4 - Thrash Metal; 5 - Death Metal; 6 - Black Metal. So in my opinion as a TRUE Metal-er, it seems like the term 'power metal' is a lazy lumping together of 3 of the 6 TRUE subcategories of Heavy Metal: Heavy Metal, Speed Metal, and Thrash Metal. And that brings me to my final point: why does the MAJORITY of people try to compare Lovebites and other Metal bands to DragonForce? I mean absolutely NO disrespect to DragonForce, but by making those comparisons the MAJORITY of people are essentially saying that they think DragonForce are either the FIRST Metal band to produce/create a sound/style of playing or the BEST Metal band to do so. That is most definitely NOT the case, and in fact they are simply carrying on the legacy set down by the Metal bands from the 80's. Again, I mean absolutely NO disrespect to DragonForce whatsoever, and in fact I like them. I just felt the need to pose that question. But that aside, again great reaction video dude. Oh by the way, you just got a new subscriber.

nemophila is not band, it's just Saki project, it's not too late to talk about them even after releasing the album. What is the relationship between nemophila and LOVEBITES? Nemophila is only related to saki and lovebites miho and haruna being former members of destrose.
