I’m Vincent Racaniello, Earth’s Virology Professor, and I believe that education should be free.

That’s why we loved Dex in hospice. Sometimes folks “could go right up to the brink feeling okay”, as you said. Real comfort care in many circumstances. Often the inflammation is a big part of the pain and sick feeling.

@Microbe tv, The first case reported in Michigan this year was in an Oakland County child and was linked to international...they don't think any outside exposure from home . The second case was in an adult from Wayne County and that case was also linked to international travel. There is a list of exposure sites. Dearborn area. Washtenaw County Health Department is reporting Michigan’s third case of measles this year. This is Ann Arbor area where Kathy works. There is a list of exposures sites...

@LisaMartinez-ri6ve The Barrier Reef is a major tourist industry. Fron Cairns there are one day dive tours,,some with a dip and BBQ on a desert island, some in glass bottom boats,etc. It is one of the 7 wonders of the world,:)

Maybe the phages include their own tRNA, especially when it is subsets, to result in a significant rate of specific translation errors, as an extreme form of translational variation analogous to splicing.

That's not the problem. I believe the problem is that natural evolution of the virus in humans causes the virus to revert fairly quickly, less with the new OPV, which was engineered with more roadblocks. With people with normal immune responses and societies with large coverage, not a major issue if you consider 1 in a million getting some sort of paralysis. Which is why most modern countries moved to IPV.

@@traianliviudanciu8665 - So far no. You cannot stop it from reverting to a form where it kills/paralyses people. It's a by product of natural selection. Something about the way the virus replicates in the body, something advantageous to its growth, survival and replication also pushes for its effects on the nervous system. As for wild poliovirus circulating? Yes it did. Constant exposure created various levels of immunity, including temporary partial immunity of mothers to their babies. But it still existed and history is full of people with partial paralysis. The development of public health and hygiene, created situations which reduced natural exposure. This created populations which had no natural immunity and which would have had the virus run rampant through it periodically, killing and paralyzing people, until enough immunity built up to suppress the virus. And this happened over and over until the development of the vaccines.

Historicaly vials with some vaccin include more doses. If did not change seringue after each injection,aspirate before inject technique can lead to blood contamination of seringue

dosage volume is so small that a multi dose vial is more easily handled and produced. The aspiration issue has no support from the clinical data. No need to flog it.
