XPO. 80cpm 35cpm deadhead. 35 CPM for dead move to a better area. At current, 12 CPM fuel surcharge. with a big sprinter. It's slow during the winter so I'm not making a whole lot but I live in the van and I'm still making enough to be happy. When it's busy during the summer months, the van has the potential to make 2500 to $2, 600 a week after expenses

I’ve always worked on commission and never looked at my pay on a weekly basis. There are times when you don’t make anything, I mean 0 dollars, for weeks and then the last week of the month it all hits. I see this as a commission job. I’m about to start expediting and I’m expecting to have bad weeks. What I haven’t seen anyone talk about is their monthly income. I expect the swings in pay from month to month will be less than it is from week to week. Please tell me what your experience is month to month: Thanks

You should have a pretty good idea of how your #'s average out in a average week. You know, "basically", how much you will bring in, how much your cost to be out on the road will be and how many miles you will run. If you didn't, you would hang it up by now. (Not trying to be a contrarian, it's just business)

I make .45 cpm I have to pay for fuel I have to pay for a lease on the truck that I'll never own I have to pay for occupational insurance I got to pay 20% for escrow. The only way to survive is to drive for a company that pays enough for you to return home after every load. I make 1.20- 1.75 CPM. I sleep in hotels, not my van. Been expediting for 12 years. High paying companies are out there. Never drive for a company that gets loads off of load boards. It's cheap freight.
@MyLifesVentures7 жыл бұрын
if you have your own authority, theres a difference, youll never find this being simply an owner/op. im looking into getting my own authority off in the future, takes awhile to obtain all the necessary components, contacts etc.
@1962KSR7 жыл бұрын
My Life's Ventures .. You don't need your own authority. I don't have it. You need to find a local transportation company that has its own local customers. Im an independent contractor for Team Worldwide. They have offices all over the country, in most major cities. Running a load and then sitting for days is not the way to go. Most of my loads are day trips and any long distance is out and then right back home the next day. It beats living in a van and the pay is much better because my company wants me back home because it's where their customers are. Good luck to you. Driving for brokers who get business off of load boards doesn't work. The driver gets screwed every time.
@MyLifesVentures7 жыл бұрын
you wanna shoot me a private email or message, i am never to good to be educated on things im unsure or aware of such as this. Maybe we could swap numbers and have a talk? I spoke to that company funny enough and they say you NEED your own authority. insurance etc. You say no?
@1962KSR7 жыл бұрын
My Life's Ventures All of Teams offices are independently owned so maybe each one is different. My best advice is just check out local trucking companies that also expedite and have their own customers that use them on a regular basis. Even local courier companies do a lot out of town expediting. The work and pay will be more steady. Good luck and stay safe out there.

Bernie Sands yeah I know people like him that say that it’s never their business.... but do to a gathering and tell everyone’s business.

Tim, I've watched about 5 of your vids. Thank u for contributing. Very helpful. I have one question though. Have you ever seen anyone expediting with their dog riding passenger? Would there be any downside to this? Thanks so much. Happy trails.

There are a lot of expediters that do that very thing I know many drivers who have little dogs with them the only thing it really affects sometimes is hauling food products
