I just purchased 2 8' skar ZVX 4ohm (they will be set up as 2ohm though) with a Skar rp.2000.1 amp. I was just wondering how did you wire them, I was told to do "Series/Parallel wiring"

You can it's the camera. The highs scream. I just bought a 2017 Hyundai elentra and new door speakers and tweeters so it will be even louder. Waiting for all my equipment so I can do the install.

The box was mad by skar specifically for them. Just bought a Hyundai 2017 elentra and until I can upgrade the factory electrical I can't go any bigger on the amps. I will eventually. A new alternator is $750 has to be custom built.

they used to dim before I got the battery. For a set up like mine it's perfect, but anything bigger you might want to try a bigger battery. I have a 1600 watt amp actual power. sundown audio sa 12's, rockford fosgate p3 10's, and skar audio zvx or whatever they're called, and my lights don't dim with any of them. You might get a very slight dim but it's hardly noticable this is only at max volume though.

Batteries help with initial surges, but then put a bigger drain on your electrical system when worn down. What you should do first is get bigger wiring. Do the big 3 with 0 gauge or 00. That's the positive from your alternator to battery, battery ground to frame, frame to the engine. I ran 00 gauge from the battery ground to the same point as the engine ground. Just that and I never had the lights dim in my 97 honda accord with a stock battery and 120amp alternator while running a old school MTX 1501d that was rated 1500rms@2ohms but actually did 1871rms@2ohms according to the birth certificate. I ran it at 1ohm on a re sx 18". Had a small battery later to play it at parties at low volumes connected to a breaker that disconnected it from the main battery so I didn't have to worry about it dying while the car was off.

That amp is ok u need to upgrade tho, get a taramp 3k amp them subs can take it easy ,that's what i had on mine , don't get me wrong that thing slaps but a taramp 3 k will really flex some shit

I got a new car waiting to install everything. Buying all my wires harnesses . New door speakers etc. I'm gonna see how it does with the factory set up and a couple batteries. That's why I haven't gone bigger on the amps yet. But you're right I've researched them they're bad arse amps.

They're louder and hit deeper. They take a lot more wattage than the SA 8s...I think I have just the right power at about 1600 watts and the speakers are rated at 900rms very underated. For the price the Skar's are a no brainer. Sorry Sundown.

Could be the box... cause if the Sundown played in that big of a box they would sound like crap.. the ZVX 8’s need 1.25 net per 8” per the site, whereas the Sundown SA8(all versions up to the SA8v3) are from .5 to .75 tuned 32hz. That ZVX 8 can’t do anything below 32hz much less be in a enclosure tuned 32hz because the motor to weak. But it does quite well at what it was designed for the ZVX 8 . Try a X8v3 or 2 in a box half that size and see if you will not come back to Sundown. Mine operate in 1 cube net for the pair on a Fosgate 1500bdcp @ 1ohm... loving it

With a box that size I would have done 2 10’s..8’s shouldn’t need that much airspace to perform. What’s the point? If you got 2.5 cubes net just get 2 10’s. Why? Cause cone area is king.

I doubt that would fit in my trunk. Lol...it's actually pushing about 1600 watts. That's what the fosgate certificate says at 2 ohm's...I have a prime that pushes my 12 inch sundown audio as 12s at about 1350 at 1 ohm...right now I have my 10 inch fosgate p3s in they're 2 ohm too. The Sundowns were tearing my car apart. They broke my windshield!
