One of the most popular influencers and KZbinrs in the Philippines now is Jessica. Jessica Lee is super nice too. Jessica got accepted into a major Philippine TV network's P-Pop Idol audition program, but she left because she wanted to focus on her studies. BINI is the name of that group now. Later, she went back to Korea to try out for K-POP idol. She did pretty good in that audition as far as I can remember.

While growing listening to music band over the radio during late 90's, our Artists and musicians and entertainers are so subtle and humble that they can jam to the public when it's not a "gig" time. One thing I just realize it that over the years when televisions era are in the rise, where these artists, musicians and entertainers alike were pampered by managers or the so called talent houses, they became arrogant or I could say more distant to the public, they develop super duper "star" persona, while those who are not handled by talent managers , those who havent influenced with glamour of spotlight or prepaid exposure, those who are known through social.media, those who are not even make a cut by looks, are the more humble among all. They don't cringed when fans approach them, and they talk with u as normal as they can be, say for example, arnel pineda who until at his middle 50's still the lead singer of journey, he is never known to be an elite artist when he comes back in the Philippines. Hello has a low private life and he is always normally casual in public, SB19 are just cool performers, they are so approachable, the same with Gigi de kana and other artists that given by their relax calendar gig, they can always hang out for a couple of time with their fans. When you happen to pass by street food stalls, never say never not to try some of the exotic foods that are on display, it maybe ur first time or you don't think you stomach it but you never knows what our exotic food entails to charm you. There's a lot of taste that aren't similar when u hope by every places thought u can hear the same name but preparations are totally different. Say halo halo in manila are not filled with fruits while if you happened to visit beaches they could really offer you tropical delights where fruits are much enthusiastically serve.

Jessica is so cute. She's learning Tagalog in her every day work life, YT channel but she originally emigrated to Bacolod City, my hometown. You've seen that video when she went back to visit. But By the way, when it comes to balut, it one of those foods where the look to taste ratio is waaaaaay polar opposites. Dont let the look fool you because it really only tastes like a hard boiled egg. I personally, if i ever eat it, prefer the ones with the smaller chick because that i can handle. Oh and if you ever try it, just don't eat the white part of the egg because honestly, it's just like chewing on the hardest eraser ever😅. One more thing, us Filipinos, we loooove puns and play-on-words. We do this for Tagalog and English but also the other languages too. We love to joke and have a good time.

I’m filipino but I really can’t eat a whole balut. I only slurp the soup and eat the yolk part and it was good. Adidas is my favorite too especially if it is cooked like adobo it’s just like chicken skin. Jessica has series called trabaho (job) in her channel where she tries different kinds of jobs for a day. Her team asked permission to the owner or manager of the job first in advanced because they would film it and they will really give Jessica her actual salary for doing that job. So you’ll notice the difference of salary because the salary was based on the kind of job and where the job is located.

Another note for you guys to learn; When a Filipino says that "their nose is bleeding", they are referring to having to talk English. It's an inside joke that means it's too hard for them, and they have to concentrate too much, which makes their nose bleed. Most average Filipino's can understand English, but may not be able to have a full conversation in it, as they are not that used to speaking it daily. So, if you come here, you WILL hear someone say this! "Noes bleed" means too much English for them/

There's two foods, living here, that I will NOT touch, ever! Balut is the top of the list! No can do! By the way, for the record, Balut is "usually" a duck egg. Another I dislike is dinuguan (blood pudding), which is actually pig blood collected during the slaughtering of the pig, drained straight from his neck (as it dies), and then boiled (VERY common here). And, by the way, is where the above listed dinuguan comes from. My least favorite (hated) "condiment" is called Bagoong, which smells, to me, absolutely terrible, and is made of fermented shrimp FERMENTED! (Spoiled! Rotten!). They put in on a ton of their food for flavor, A special "treat" for them is to dip green (as in not ready) mango slices into the bagoong! Sounds plenty weird to dip unripe fruit into a fermented dip! We all eat weird things, which are not weird to us, but could freak out others.

I keep adding stuff here. Should have waited til the end, but then too much for one msg. Halo-Halo (NOT HAlo/lower case "a") means "mix-mix" in Tagalog. It is usually a mix of a certain type of sweet bean, fruit pieces, gelatin pieces, could have coconut, sweet potato, maybe sweet corn...topped with shaved ice and condensed milk poured on top. It does NOT taste good as is, until you mix-mix it all up! Hence the name. It is not over sweet, it's refreshing, and full of vitamins. Sounds a bit weird, yes, but it's very good!

Most foreigners can’t get past the visual aspect of the balut. If they were blindfolded, I doubt they would be so repulsed. The broth tastes just like chicken broth and the yolk tastes like a regular yolk that has been soaking in the broth. Fun fact: Balut originated from South China which also explains why other countries like Vietnam have it.
