Two Amps At The Same Time - Tonal Bliss?

In this video I am running various pedals into two amps and blending them together for some really cool tone testing. The first is my 6AU6 Princeton type amp set very clean like a black panel Princeton Reverb. The second is a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe set to about 3/4 for some crunch. Trying to see if two very different sounding amps can come together for one glorious tone!

The best tone I've gotten is with a single-ended dry Champ over a wet Princeton Reverb with a touch of echo or two tremolos at different speeds. I'd like to build it into one Deluxe Reverb cab with a 1x12(Princeton) and a 1x10(Champ), sharing the same power transformer and using two different output transformers. The SE and push/pull together is really something special! Cheers Kley!

I always advocate for running two amps at the same time. Dual mono via two amps can offer some REALLY rich characteristics. I do this via a THR100HD (modeling amp) that is effectively two of their THR heads stacked into a single unit. But this also SO much more tone shaping. I typically run a high headroom along with either a high gain or crunchy amp. This makes some fuzzes really cut through and just so rich its fantastic. If you have the opportunity I'd recommend ANYONE to run two amps if they get the chance and try and like use the second amp to make up for maybe the tonal short comings of the first. I'm sure an EQ pedal or something could do the same :) But I find it really great - and this video is proof!

Only experience I've had with this is with a peavey bass amp that has a crossover kinda thing (it's supposed to send higher frequencies to a separate amp so you can have distortion and keep the low end clean) It's pretty good with guitar too though, I haven't tried it out too extensively because I need to find a power strip to power both amps and the pedal power supply lol. That set up with a big muff powered by a battery is pretty good though
