For people who don't speak cantonese, they were discussing how much to invest in an "insurance" pool, where the dude with the set of 10s was offering 3-1 odds to the guy with the straight to "insure" against a bad beat on the river. They eventually settled with Lo(guy with the straight)paying 200k to insure against a board pairing on the river(if that happens, he will get 600k back from the insurer, which is the guy with the set). That is why they opt to run it once again.

Forget about Arab money, It's all about chinese money these days. lol
@CrashBashIsTaken10 жыл бұрын
Dude please, Arabs are fucking poor as shit but few of them are royals and they are flashy. American billionaires are discrete and protect their privacy. How many billionaires are in the USA? 492 billionaires China? 152 Russia? 111 THE ENTIRE ARAB WORLD? less than 30. For god's sake India has more billionaires than the middle east and northern Africa. The average income in the middle east is not even half the what it is in the USA.
@sirwallaby10 жыл бұрын
Your number is true but the arab billionaires are really trillionaires if you consider they own all their famil money in their account, for example take siekh mansur of the UAE his reserve bank account on behalf of his family is over $900 Billion dollars, 95% chinese billionaires have wealth of between $1 billion and $5 billion. the figure is slightly lower for american billionaires roughly 75%.
@CrashBashIsTaken10 жыл бұрын
sirwallaby It is impossible to know his bank account. the second thing is HIS FAMILY DOES NOT OWN 900 BILLIONS. Maybe the Saudi royal family has near that which waaaaaaaaaay richer than the rest of the royal families combined. Fucking monarchies. They thieve countries.
@sirwallaby10 жыл бұрын
It is an estimate from back in 2011 that al nahyan collective liquid wealth is $900 Billion dollars and mansur holds the bigger say on matters relating to the money due to the cultural nature of the arabs. The saudi royal family don't hold that much money under their own account although the saudi reserve is more than $1 trillion but you have to remember that you are comparing a country with population of 1.1 Million against 29 million or so. But you know monarchies they own everything and spend on the populations as they see fit and the rest is for them.

To those who are saying how could Lo announce his hands and how could Phua called his all in need to see the whole episode, Lo was playing almost every hand and he was playing loose all session he was calling and raising with hands deemed very weak everyone thought he was a "fish" and throwing his money away. this is the only hand that LO completed a strong hand and got lucky that phua hit a top set, this is why Phua couldn't even imagine Lo having the straight even though Lo pronounce it he thought he was showing extra strength for his hand so Phua would fold. If you played on that table believe me you might even be tempted to call him with top pair his raises and calls were crazy, i can't be 100% sure but i remember Lo calling or raising someone with air and he showed his card to lose the pot . Also if i recall phua going all in on multiple occasions with his big stack into a small pot it's only this time someone called him because they hit a top set.

sirwallaby Lo made very strong(and lucky) hands against Haxton. He played them very similiar. Hit a set against overpair = all-in. Flopped a straight against overpair = all-in. I dont think he ever bluff overshoved. But it is very hard to fold the 2nd nuts on that board.

ThatGermanView I would have folded, just based on how he was acting. Like you said he never bluff overshoved and the 2 times he was all in, it was actually very strong hands. Lo played loose throughout and although you can see that his game is not technically correct in some spots, some of his plays and bluffs are in fact quite logical. Like the one against Newey when he checkedraised on flop the bet bet on turn and river. If Newey didn't had a fullhouse but something like just a pair or even overpair he might have folded.

ThatGermanView haha, even after he counted our his straight hand to you? Sometimes, base on mannerism you could find a fold because he doesn't hide his excitement...
