Two beginner quilts: Irish chain and stretched stars

Stretched stars is made with a simple square with 2 corner triangles. When put together the stars appear.
Irish chain is made with strips and squares. It's simple and quick to make and the perfect first quilt.

do you sew slightly outside the drawn line for a better finish? Also what program do you use to create the variations of the blocks.

I sew just along the line though sometimes it’s not perfectly on the line 😂 I use an app called PhotoCollage and also Electric Quilt 8
