Triple Play is a favorite tradition here at Missouri Star. Once a month, Jenny, Misty, and Natalie each demonstrate their own, unique spin on a favorite block, technique, or template. In this episode, the talented Doan ladies show off three fabulous new table runners made with half-square triangles.
Misty’s Spinning Star Table Runner is made with 5 inch squares of precut fabric. She uses a charm pack from Happiness Blooms by Deb Strain for Moda Fabrics and sews her HSTs using the four-at-a-time method.
Jenny’s Half-Square Triangle Star is designed for 2.5 inch jelly roll strips. Her fabric is Blue Escape by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts for Andover Fabric, and her half-square triangles are made with strip sets and the clearly perfect slotter trimmer B. This is an extra long table runner, perfect for Jenny's big family table.
Natalie’s Migration Table Runner features modern flying geese made with fat quarters. She uses Essex Linen from the Around the Bend line by Anna Graham for Robert Kaufman Fabrics, and her HSTs are made with the easy eight method.

Oh, I didn't know Natalie was a newly Wed, how nice, & exciting. All the best to the happy couple. I should of guessed though, from that bigger than usual, beautiful smile, I've been noticing. Love these table runners! So fun to watch you ladies. Natalie your glow just keeps growing. Beautiful ring. Congratulations on your recent wedding. No doubt you found the right person to share the rest of this journey with. Several years after my husband died I found love again too. The joy and obvious glow I had was obvious to anyone who saw me and they often commented on the change in me. That glow has nothing to do with weight loss although that's great. The glow comes from the happiness of being loved and loving that special someone. Miracles do happen. Expect miracles! 😉

I made a quilt two sided like that for my mom. I went to a classic and made a Christmas side and Mom loved it so much that I did a half and half for the other. She picked out civil war material for this side. She loved both and I had it sewn with circles that looked okay on both sides.

Jenny I too have a long dinning table. So, a long runner does the trick for it. You're not going to believe it, but I love stars, & star block's as well. We seem to have a lot in common.
