I'm starting to get a bigger picture of you. When your mad or irritated that something bad happened with the boats you start talking about the haters on the channel. Anyone who is serious about boating has lost a prop or broken a cable or whatever. It happens as you said. Don't give fuel to them for hateful comments. Just my two cents. You are the best in the rc boat videos.

I've been making content for a few years now, so I know what's coming in the comment section before I post the video, I have my regular viewers the support the channel in the comments regularly, then I have the guys that only chime in when I break stuff or somethingbad happens. So I try to catch it before it happens and go over potential fixes and preventive solutions

I see magnet fishing mentioned here , yes most props are not magnetic but they are attached to a flex cable that is , in those cases where the prop was lost due to a flex cable breaking . Been loving the content Big B , your channel rocks .

I agree, I have a big magnet and tried it once out at the park, no success. I may need to buy a proper fishing magnet 🧲

Never seen a flat ground on a flex cable before. I could honestly see the cable wiring losing integrity, even if its soldered, considering the flat is cutting through the strands. Would be like rebar in a concrete wall having the rebar clipped near the foundation, allowing for flex. Regardless, if its any consolation, I had been thinking of getting a upgraded collet & flexcable from OSE and ditching the stock one in our Recoil 2 26". Went ahead and ordered after seeing this.

Big B i'm sorry you keep losing your props and shaft bro. Have you thought about doing some magnet fishing at that pond to recover some of your props. If so try using a really powerful magnet and you will retrieve some 😊.

The double set screw with the solid cable end on oxi boats have been great. I wish I could DIY my cable ends.. dipping the cable in a braze opposed to solder?
@stevejackson35642 ай бұрын
That is interesting, you ground a flat spot on the soldered end. I would have never thought about that. Thanks for good hint. Yup it sucks to lose a good prop. BOAT ON. Also you can grind off the hex screw flat. They do have a small taper on the end. That might help even more because now you have more flat on the cable. Worth a try. I do this with my drive dog screw as well flat on the shaft.

put some J or L wire attached from the strut till the end of the prop (few mm away), just as a safety measure to avoid from losing the whole thing. Hope it helps

Propellers are usually made from non magnetic 🧲 materials such as aluminum, brass/ bronze or stainless, I wish there was a aluminum magnet 🧲 because I lost 2 , 7075 T7 aluminum props at the same exact location on the lake and know where they are. 🤔🤣😂☺️

@@scottdearmond5532 The prop is not magnetic but the flex cable is and an easier target to hit with a magnet if the prop was lost due to cable breakage

Shitty deal, big B! It is recommended that all that gets lock tight needs to be clean and decreased. Could have been that some grease fucked shit up. Issues that I've experienced with my boats of that kind, was the grease. I make sure that stuff getting the lock-tight is clean. Never had issues since. In fact, now I use my soldering iron on the grubs to remove them. The finicky deal with the props definitely makes it a shitty deal😢😢😢

I'm about to pull apart my one tfl outboard, broke about 5 in it, just replaced it, ran one time and pulled it to inspect, and its about ready to go. I have 2 other tfl outboards and haven't broken 1 in those 2. So I'm beginning to think there's a flaw in this one, so I'm going to see...
