Great job guys!!! We did the same thing in Aruba only it was the grooms wedding ring that fell off. The poor guy was beside himself. My husband searched for an hour and his arm was exhausted from the rough surf so my son took over and found it in less than 5 minutes. Just seeing the look on the faces of the bride and groom was all the reward one could want. A great feeling. Congrats for being so selfless and honest! Happy hunting.

Just hand them an envelope with a cash reward , it is very uncomfortable for someone to take money but they deserve it! It is well worth giving at the least a couple hundred dollars to get a valuable and sentimental ring back. What they did was very kind.

You could have had a little fun with her by first saying,"here it is!" and pulling out the crusted up sterling ring. Then handing her the real one. Haha. Cool of you guys to do that for someone. She had to be crushed when she lost it.

thats awesome did they offer any remuneration i know your stand up guys and would not have accepted but some people nowadays just expect everything for free.
@mikeb79327 жыл бұрын
Its been almost a year now since we found this ring. The owner and family were grateful, gracious and generous. We didn't talk about any reward but they sincerely offered more than once. They were a pleasure to be around and we were glad to help them in such a special way. That said we would have handled it the same if they weren't that way. We're lucky enough to find a lot of great things on land and underwater that can't be returned so events like this even the score. When we find items lost by somebody that cant be returned we say all the time "That must've been a bad day for someone". Make an effort to return what you can, it will feel better when you keep everything else.
@mikeb79327 жыл бұрын
And incase it isn't exactly clear, in the next video Carter finds his first gold coin in 43 years of MDing less than 48 hours after returning this ring. Reward enough.

It is amazing how sound travels through water. The first time I heard a power boat go by, I was in 20 feet of water and planted myself flat on the bottom thinking it was right on top of me because it was so loud; but when the motor noise started to fade, I went to the surface and saw the boat was a good 1/4 mile away going parallel to shore, it wasn't even close to me.
@stefanrdetecting84118 жыл бұрын
Cool return! What an amazing ring! Did you got a reward?
@DetectorComparisons8 жыл бұрын
They were very gracious and did offer but since we were diving the area anyway, we declined.

A few years ago in Biloxi, Ms, across from Edgewater Mall, I was beach hunting. A weird guy walks up and said his wife lost a 2,000 wedding ring and offered a 500 reward. I found a couple of pull tabs, several coins, a cubic zirconia ring, and THE wedding ring. The guy was on me as soon as I came out of the water. I showed him the ring and asked if this was it. He patted me on the back, said he had to go get his check book. Hour later, a very upset crying lady was using a 60.00 Radio Shack detector trying to find her wedding ring. I ask if the one I had was hers. It was!! Funny, the cubic zirconia guy never came back! Nope, did not take the reward the lady wanted to give me! The story alone was priceless!
