I'm from Michigan and I'm excited to start using my detector again, hopefully soon. you've helped me realize, that while I might not find any relics from wars, there's still great finds to be had. just have to buy a battery pack for my whites spectrum xlt, then I can get to it once more. I'd love to go hunting with you sometime if you're ever in the Capitol area of Michigan.

It was a cool summer last year. That cold water shrinks the fingers,causing rings to go bye bye. Cant feel their fingers till too late. I have been hunting Northern Mi beaches for years. Found many treasures up here. Found a 14k gold bracelet,gave it to my sister to match her necklace,was a dolphin bracelet. very heavy.

The broken coin that you said was from a charm bracelet is actually a Coin from Asia, I do not remember which country but my father used to have several of them, I do not know what happened to them after he died in 1974, but it is probably pretty old.

Lane: at the 13:05 point, that broken coin is Chinese minted in Peking (the rings on the left side) and is from the 1600s to 1700s. I would love to see the obverse to know exactly. The reference is Google - old Chinese coins - Coins of China the CH'ING dynasty, Calgary Coin Gallery. I just found one from the Emperor Kao Tsung, AD 1736-1795 a few days ago and saw a facebook with your. BTW I have subscribed to your site.....Huck

I did have an Ace250. It's a great starter machine, but won't do well to get old, deeper targets. This was especially true for where I hunt. The AT-Pro does better separating and going a bit deeper.

I agree 100% I returned a 9 thousand dollar ring 3 weeks ago. Her name was inside the ring I asked Pentwater DNR lady said where did you find it? I said near the children playground. And she said a woman was histarical last Labor Day weekend her name was Kara. I said say her name again? Kara? Her husbands name is Dustin. “she left her phone # she’s from sound bend Indiana” ok well can I get her # she provided it,, I texted Happy 4th “WHO IS THIS” “Do you feel like coming back to Pentwater” “No that vacation was horrible for me my husband just paid off the reason why I hate that area” “ really? It’s so beautiful here and well I think I can make you believe in humanity and believe this area is the most beautiful in Michigan” sent her a pic and well the rest is in the video.

What depths can I expect from the Garrett 250
@BeamDigger8 жыл бұрын
+Jim Bowling You should be able to find stuff down to 6 inches with no problems. The main issue with the ACE250 is target separation. It can't differentiate between multiple targets which are close to each other in the ground. And so you will miss a lot of good stuff. The name of the game in metal detecting is answering the question, "Should I dig this?" If you dig everything, you are wasting time on bad targets and never getting to the good targets. (not a problem if you have unlimited time) Having a detector which can give you good information about a target so that you are digging more good stuff is very helpful. The ACE250 is an entry level machine with entry level performance. If you get one, and you are serious about this hobby, you will trade up for a better machine. Hope this helps, and good luck!
@beamer61368 жыл бұрын
+BeamDigger I will be mostly for leisure, just something to do.... If not the ace250, can you recommend one... Unless i hit pay dirt, it will be the only one ill buy.. . I bought a used Whites xlt back in mid 90s for 500 bucks.......friends told me what a waste of money.....so I had to prove them wrong...... I was a union plumber doing new construction in Merrillville,In.....while pulling in the driveway of a duplex housing unit.. I noticed a woman next door to our jobsight ....she said she lost something in the thick grass .Later that week on my break and lunch hours, I found out it was a 8k diamond and gold bracelet she lost in her back yard.She searched for it for many hours on her hands and knee's with no luck.I said I bet I could find it in no time.....! I found it in mins.....she handed me a benji.Not bad for 11 minutes of work..My co worker got all jealous and wanted me to split the money with him.I told him to take a hike...lol....I was hooked from that moment on....!!

Stop grinding scratches into your coins!!! Seriously! You can literally erase hundreds and even thousands of dollars of value in some coins just because you don't have the patience to take a minute and do it right. 🙄 If you had an MS-69 (or 70) of certain coins from certain years, they can be worth thousands, whereas an MS-64 of the same year and mint would be worth $50. And even if a coin is newer, still research it. A 1983-D quarter in MS-68 or higher can be worth over $15,000. And Michigan clay is *great* at preserving. I found a pull tab Gatorade can from when they first came out and it was immaculate. After I took some Dawn and warm water to it, it looked like someone just pulled it out of the fridge.
