Two Colors Brioche Hat for beginners

Brioche in the round is really easy- more than when knitted flat. This is the most simple pattern for brioche beginners.
In the tutorial i'm using 4.5 mm/ US 7 size needles, and worsted weight yarn. I have added many possibilities of casting on number of stitches- so that it is possible to knit this hat in many sizes and different gauges.

Omg, I am so glad I found you on Instagram girl,,,,,. I love watching your tutorials and seeing your new projects I am very new to brioche I usually crochet but I do knit throughout the year. To be honest I have a bunch of knitting machines and I use them quite often but I do love to knit with needles in my hand so I am trying this brioche hat. I learned to knit brioche from Arnie and Carlos not sure if you know who they are and I've tried two small projects and now I'm going to do this hat you explain it in such detail you are the only person that I have found that truly gives every single little tiny detail and I absolutely love that you are a great teacher and a great designer thank you....

any thanks for this. I had actually started another brioche hat, from Ravelry, but didn't want to follow the decrease instructions because everyone in the comments said the instructions were wrong. Then I found your video, and decided to follow that for my decrease, and it seems to be working so far. I commented here and copied down your decrease chart because you hadn't (yet) included it in your notes. Unfortunately I copied the numbers wrong, so I deleted the post. I'm adding it here again, plus the repetition chart "Stitch number - decrease LC (brk only) rounds" 40, 80 sts - 11 rdns 48, 96 sts - 12 rdns 56, 112 sts - 13 rnds 64, 128 sts - 14 rnds 72, 144 sts - 15 rnds Repetitions for decreases: for 80 sts and higher, divide by 8 (>80 divide by 4) 40, 80 sts - 10 Repetitions (i.e., stitch marker every 10 stitches ) 48, 96 sts - 12 Repetitions (12 stitch markers) 56, 112 sts - 14 Repetitions 64, 128 sts - 16 Repetitions 72, 144 sts - 18 Repetitions

I'm really struggling to sort out these decreases in my hat. I'm only working in one colour, I can do the first decrease round but as soon as I complete this round and have to move on to the Pearl round I get stuck with the transition between rounds. I end up with two brioche stitches on the left needle and two single stitches on the right. No idea how to make the transition work so it doesn't screw up the pattern. Ripped it back 4 times now after 4 failed attempts 😅 can anyone help me?

Love how the crown looks, but had a bit of trouble seeing the actual needle work with the instructional overlay on it... Any chance you could add it as a snip at the end without the overlay? Very informative video though with all the math included! ( saves me having to do that! ) Thank you!

I'm struggling with repeating the decrease round again after the first one. I'm finding different ways and noone is demonstrating a second decrease round. So if I got this right, you decrease on the BRKs and not the BRPs. Right? Then repeat 3 round alternating colors as normal. The markers will get closer together obviously. Then the 4th round is the decrease. But then the pattern changes after you get to a certain number of stitches... and then I'm lost again. I need a video that shows it without stopping or skipping

Hi Cody, The second decrease round is exactly like the first, just one less (sl1yo, brk in each repetition.

Perhaps you could move the microphone away from your mouth just a little. The microphone is very sensitive and It will still capture the sound of your voice very nicely but without the distortions which will make a more clear sound. Otherwise, your instructions are very good. Thank-you.
