Two colour beaded kumihimo braid

In this tutorial I show you how to make a beaded kumihimo braid with two colours. Please feel free to give it a go yourself and I hope you enjoy.

Good detailed video and instruction - just a suggestion (or 2) from "the colonies" here in the US who have never learned metric - just give a US conversion in the beginning. The other suggestion would be to add a weight to that center knot (I use a fishing weight) so you don't have to keep pulling the center - the weight will add enough tension to pull the finished braid down.

Anita Campbell Thank you. I don't personally find it necessary to use a weight when making the basic braids and it also wouldn't work when I am recording my tutorials as I have a surface underneath me where the weight would just rest on. But it is personal preference :-)

HI I am new to kumihimo and was wondering if you can only do a two colour spiral I don't seem to be able to find any designs like the ones for tubular bead crochet.

June Burt No, you can do more colours in the same braid as well, but the beads need to be set up on the cords quite differently to achieve that effect. I might see about doing a tutorial on it at some point :-)
